May's Date Night

Mike wasn't sure what to expect when it came to his date with May. He doesn't really know anything about his neighbor, but has a feeling that she doesn't really like him.

So when he opened the door, he really didn't know what to think. It was clear that May went all out with her outfit though.

"H-hi May. You look nice" he stumbled out.

"Thanks. You look nice too" she said. They stood there awkwardly for a moment before May spoke again.

"I was hoping to cook for you for our date, if that's ok" she said. Mike was surprised that she sounded nervous.

"Of course, that's fine with me" he said as he let her in. May looked around in wonder before going to the kitchen.

"How does grilled chicken salad sound?" she asked.

"Sounds good to me" said Mike.

Frankly, nothing interesting happened while May made dinner. Mike was far too nervous to say anything and May couldn't think of anything. When they sat down to eat, they made another attempt at talking.

"So, we've been neighbors for a while but I don't think we've ever spoke before" he said, making her sigh.

"Yeah, I know. I don't think your mom likes me very much" said May.

"S-so, how do you like to spend your time?" he asked.

"I go to the gym, I enjoy cooking. What about you?" she asked him.

"I like to play video games and talk with Gabby. I don't really do much outside that" he said.

Again, conversation died out until May suddenly stood up and held out a hand to him.

"I'm in the negatives, so I have to do something with you" she said nervously. Mike blushed before letting her help him up.

"Ok, but you don't have to do much. It doesn't have to be anything sexual" he said, making her smile. She leaned forward, and planted a kiss on his cheek.

This made him blush and made her smile.

"That worked" she said.

And so their date continued down a slow path. They watched a movie before going to bed, staying far away from each other while sleeping. Hey, not every date is going to be super interesting. Sometimes, you just need to get comfortable.
