Investigation and Invasion pt.2

...That feeling was right, things got bad very suddenly. Barely a few months later and everything seemed to happen at once! Multiple meteors landed all over the world over the course of a few hours no less, enormous walkers started to climb out and destroy their surroundings. A government facility was broken into, Superman and Batman met one another there apparently. These enormous alien walkers stalked through cities, attacking any attempt at resistance. Information came POURING in, Hero's and Villains all over attacking these walkers. Data was being rapidly gathered by Ultron, meanwhile I would have to head out myself and start helping where I could.

First thing I started with was sending out my summons to help get people to the safety of shelters, or at least out of the danger zone's. My elemental summons couldn't really tank the amount of damage these walkers were throwing around, thankfully though it wasn't straining to send a few bigger one's, Lesser tier, to distract the walkers while the smaller one's did their job. Jade and Shiva had several missions of their own to deal with, though Jade did give me a kiss before heading out. Over the months Jade had spent more time with me, and we'd spent a LOT more nights together.

I was barely a few hours into helping people escape and get to safety when the meteors start to shake again, slowly turning into enormous factory looking machines. It's what they DID that worried me, they were slowly starting to cover the area in dark clouds, almost like an incredibly thick smog. "I believe they are trying to block out the sun. Perhaps they have an aversion to light or heat?" I heard from Ultron. Light and heat huh? Let's try that. I summoned a Greater Light elemental for the first time, the brightness was almost blinding as this Stag made of light and about the same size as a News Van appeared and began to attack the walkers. It was doing better than the Earth or Ice summons I'd thrown at them before, even managed to take one out before the other two put their focus on it.

This is the point I also learned that summoning a higher tier Elemental took up more slots than a Basic or Lesser one. A Greater Elemental cost 5 slots to summon one, so I could only summon them one at a time. Good news is that I could summon them pretty quickly, so I brought back the Light Stag and summoned a Komodo Dragon made of Light. It was every bit as huge as the stag and breathed out multiple beams of light to my surprise.

With the Walker down and destroyed I sent as many elementals as I could into the factory, it was clearly important to them so better to tear it apart. My light summons shrunk down so they could head inside, attacking these invaders and beating them back. This was going much better than I'd expected, unfortunately the insides of the factory were tough, too tough for my elemental's below Greater tier to deal damage or breakthrough the walls. These invaders kept healing or reforming themselves even, it's like they couldn't be fully stopped, only slowed down. This was getting worse and worse, they were starting to overwhelm my summons with the firepower they ha- "Please, come to Metropolis! We need all the help we can get to STOP this invasion." I suddenly heard in my mind. Metropolis huh? Better be someone that can actually put an end to this.

Summoning an Eagle of Wind would be the fastest way to get there, when I arrived to where I was being called though... I wasn't expecting to see the gathering on the rooftop waiting for me. "So... Which of you was it that called me here?" I asked, the collection of people in interestingly colored outfits. It was the one with green skin that answered. "I did. My name is J'onn J'onzz. I came to warn Earth about this invasion but was captured. We need to get inside this factory. This is where Superman and Hawkgirl are being held captive." The one with a glowing green ring stepped up. "Hang on, why do we need him? This isn't the time to be baby sitting amateurs!" I landed onto the rooftop and pointed out at the factory. "You need to get in there right?" The martian nodded his head. I didn't waste time, I pushed my summoning as much as I could.

What came out was the Light Stag once more, oh and a gigantic Crocodile made of Fire. Both tore through what walkers were nearby with practically no effort at all. "They should be enough to deal with anymore that show up out here. So how about we rescue them first and have introductions later, hmm?" With that my Eagle summons flew me towards the factory. These things captured Superman? How? While I thought that the others caught up, Flash was the first to speak to me then. "So what do we call you anyways? The summoner? Cause I think the name black mask is taken..." I looked back at him for a moment before summoning more elementals to open the way for us, a pair of massive Stone Ram's charging and breaking open the wall. "Requiem. Now we have people to help in here right?" I asked as I followed my summons in, dozens more being made and charging in rapidly.

We pushed inwards, J'onzz helping to sneak us inside with his shapeshifting ability. Something felt off though... Especially when we found Superman and Hawkgirl, the others heading through a door to help while I stuck outside looking to make sure no other enemies were sneaking up on us. "This is too easy, isn't it? I mean we find them THIS fast?" Sure enough I turned just in time to see the door close, one of my summons inside watching as they all lost consciousness. With that I used my summons to wrap me in shadows and hide me from the troops that rapidly arrived. I KNEW it was too easy! Of course it was a trap. Now I would have to save ALL of them at once it looked like... I know this isn't something these people normally would deal with but...
