One in a Million

Lexi looked at you with a furrowed brow. “How do you know that? Isn’t she at your apartment?”

You realized you let something slip that you shouldn’t have.

“Spill it, James.”, Lexi commanded. “What is it you’re not telling me?”

There was no use hiding it. Lexi would sniff out a lie immediately. You decided it was best to just be honest.

“Well…When we first met, she was weak and couldn’t take a humanoid form or speak. She did something to me that allowed me to communicate with her telepathically. She said she bonded to me using magic and put a part of her body into my head.”

Lexi made a worried expression for just a moment, but you managed to notice it.

“Is that bad? I thought it might have been a slime thing.”

“No…it isn’t a common ability. Only a few slimes are capable of something like that.” Lexi was deep in concerned thought. “It should only be possible for very rare and powerful queen slimes.”

“So, Morgana is a special variety?”, you asked with intrigue.

“Of course I am. There’s no one like me, darling.” Morgana stated matter-of-factly through the connection.

“Yes. Only one in a million slimes are born as a queen. It takes **** circumstances and the right magical environmental factors for one to be born. Not only are they capable of advanced bodily formation, but they can make perfect replicas of themselves and hold substantial magical potential. The backlash from such a powerful magical being entering our world must’ve been why the portal malfunctioned.”

“Should I be worried?”

You had a basic understanding of what Lexi said but not of the consequences of such a thing.

“I don’t know. If she bonded with you, then you should be fine. I’ve heard they are quite possessive of their chosen mate. Some queens have built entire kingdoms just to pamper the one they love. If a queen chose you, then I was right to go after you too.”

You couldn’t tell if Lexi was more nervous or excited by the prospect of Morgana.

“Just to be safe, I’m going to log her in the system as a typical slime. You need to be careful who you share this information with. It could attract the wrong attention.

“What, you mean like scheming little devils?”, you offered, trying to ease the tension.

“Ha!”, Lexi laughed. “I’m serious though. Be careful, James.”

You nodded, and decided it was time to leave. “I’ll see you tomorrow, Lexi…and thank you. I won’t forget my promise.”

“You better not…Daddy.”, she said with a wink.

The rest of the day was uneventful. The monotony of the work coupled with what went down in the meeting with Lexi made time go by fast. You thought to go and see Lisbeth, but when you approached her office you heard some rather provocative noises coming from inside. You decided to talk to her another time and head home as soon as possible.

Not only had you agreed to let Lexi join your future harem, but you also learned more about Morgana. Was she really such a powerful being? Suddenly, her bouts of jealousy became a little more intimidating. Hearing your thoughts, Morgana spoke.

“You don’t need to worry, my pet. I will keep you safe and loved in my embrace for all time. You’ve also made us a useful ally with Lexi. Everything will be fine. Just come home to me quickly. I have a special reward for my very good boy.”

You shuddered in anticipation of what Morgana might have in store for you, and quickened your pace in order to get home as soon as possible.
