Anneke has no idea where she is. The morning light and lack of landmarks make it hard to place herself in the forest. She shivers in the morning chill. She faces the decision: try to strike out in a random direction, hoping she’s right, or stay put and try to prepare herself to set out later when she can get a better sense of direction?
