I texted Kat and had her bring a copy of the material to Asa and texted Kianna, allowing her to talk to Asa about our relationship and warning her that Asa knew. Then my routine started normal. Carpool, imbue, work.

Get stopped at the entrance and told Rapetoy wanted to see me. I was ordered to visit medical, because the GCPD had reported my being in the vicinity of Jinx to her, so standard procedure meant I had to be checked out to make sure I wasn’t somehow being influenced…

I looked at her for a moment. I hated her. The temptation to act was so strong. To unleash my anger on a target who deserved everything I could give her and more. Which…was probably exactly what Asa was worried about. Fuck it. I was in control. I nodded to her and walked my ass back to medical.

“Hey doc, tell me I got lucky and you’re the one doing the check up!” I said as I caught Penelope on the way to her office.

She looked confused, but wasn’t going to admit it. “Of course I’m handling it. Tell me everything.” +2 SP (Penelope -24) Yes!

“Not entirely sure this even counts. I never even saw the supe, but I guess being in the same building is enough?”

“Any exposure to a superpower is dangerous, yes. We need to do the full work-up, tell me everything about the superpower.”

“I dunno what she’s got, but the press was calling her Jinx. I saw energy beams of some sort of smashing through the floor, plus fire? That was all on the TV though, I never even saw her.”

“I’ll find out everything we know about her. Don’t worry.”

“Great. Can you share that? I doubt she’ll come after me, or that I could do anything about it, but knowing about her powers would be helpful.”

She considered for a moment.

“I could never find that information for myself and it might help keep me alive. Please?”

“Sure. Just don’t tell anyone. It’s against the rules.” +4 SP (Penelope -20).

Shit, only 5 more SP before I lost the chance to get her second challenge, but I didn’t want to distract myself. Instead, I briefed her on the basics of what had happened, she was basically unimpressed, but her version of combat was based on action movies, so she was more confused that I’d run rather than trying to handle it myself.

We’d reached medical and we went into an exam room, where she began the exam quickly. That gave me a moment to examine my options.

A Good Doctor: Every time she treats a patient, it will move their SP 3 towards 0, reducing it if it is above 0, increasing it if below. These changes do not get you credits, or take them away. Reward for reaching positive submission with this active: Upgrade to: A Bad Doctor: Every time she treats a patient it will increase their SP, if it below 50. You will not gain or lose credits from this and no challenges/checkpoints will be unlocked.

Scarecrow’s Girl: Scarecrow decides to start experimenting with his new toxins on the patients in Arkham, with Penelope helping him. Reward for reaching positive submission with this active: Upgrade to: Scarecrow’s a Girl. In the final confrontation with Batman that resolves the encounter, Scarecrow will be exposed to multiple toxins, which results in him being transformed into a woman and both him and Penelope being confined as inmates at Arkham.

Dumb Muscle: You volunteered to help her dumb things down…so you’re dumb. She will treat you as dumb muscle and expect you to be available to assist her whenever she wants. You will be re-assigned to her lab and her demands will extend to outside work hours. No extra pay will be offered. Reward for reaching positive submission with this active: Upgrade to Men are Needy, Dumb Bags of Testosterone, she will underestimate you and never be able to imagine you are plotting against her, or manipulating her. Any sexual advance, or act you commit in front of her, or to her, will be viewed as just what’s needed to keep a man in line. No one else will be effected, but she won’t mention it to anyone else.

Well…fuck. A Good Doctor had obvious advantages, but it would undo a lot of work with the patients, unless I could get her to positive real fast, which I wasn’t confident in. Scarecrow’s Girl was too dangerous, too much risk that people would be hurt. Though…having Scarecrow jailed and a woman and…maybe I could even get the stuff that transformed him? That would be valuable and something that allowed people to become women would have major medical implications?

Dumb Muscle would help be have access to her, but limit my access to the others, until I could get her enough under control to be in her sessions, which might take a long time, especially given the presence of other doctors and staff. Also, that seemed a lot more dangerous than being in the library. This was a hard choice.
