To the dorms

Tritera has all your belongings, really just the stuff you bought at Faston along with some basic things like pajamas and toiletries, packed magically into a Trunk. There's lots of space left over in it and she assures you it's enchanted to grow even bigger as it starts to fill up. Apparently she was expecting you to accumulate a lot of stuff over time. She then floats the whole thing through a mirror that must connect to some storage room in the Sorceress's dormitory.

Tritera : "It will be right outside of the entrance, the dorm itself is enchanted so that mirrors can't connect inside so we'll have to carry it the last bit the old fashioned way."

You suspected the old fashioned way would still be her using magic because you weren't sure the two of you together could lift that heavy Trunk.

Next she opens another mirror to what seems to be the inside of a wooden box and leads you through, opening the door into the sunlight as she entered the space. The two of you step out of the number 53 Brawford mirror box to a flurry of activity. It seemed like you weren't the only one moving into the dorms today.

Jessica : "Does everyone move in today or do sorceresses that came earlier in the year already live here?"

Tritera : "Every new prospect moves into these dorms the same day so everyone is fresh, the graduating class moved out of them last week. There are four sets for each gender and each year stays in the same dorms for the whole four year term. On the other side of the city there is housing for sorceresses who show up early just like there is for the boys but not everyone stays in those. Girls with magical parents often stay with their families until today."

You were glad you weren't going to be the only one coming in with no connections.

Jessica : "How many people are in each year?"

Tritera : "It varies of course and has been slowly increasing over time as the realm has been safe an prosperous long enough that the population is swelling. When I went through training there were only two hundred casters in my year, while you can expect around two hundred and forty, nearly evenly split between boys and girls."

That somehow seemed like both a large and small number of people. With only two hundred new recruits a year the large number of casters could only be explained by how long lived they were. Unless there was some other pathway to membership.
