Sounds easy enough, right ?

Gathering the power of ice... Imbuing your weapons with it, both of them... And then, one precise strike ! That was the only things you needed to do to make it work, and it sounded quite easy, to say the least.

So you focused, taking both of your swords in hand, to gather your Ice inside of their blades. As you did so, you started feeling every single bit of the swords in your hands, the Ice acting like an odd extension of your own body. When you opened your eyes, you almost dropped your weapons : they weren't swords anymore !

The sword you were holding in your left hand mere seconds ago turned into a blue shield, while the sword in your right hand turned into a war hammer, of the same blue colorn and almost too heavy for you to be able to carry with only one hand. The surprise made your focus break, and stopped your gathering of the Primal Magic within yourself. The moment this gathering stopped, your weapons turned back to normal.

It was strange to say the least, and Shirayuki looked curious as she got closer to you, inspecting your weapons only with her gaze.

"This... Is quite rare." She simply said, which prompted you to ask.

"What... Was that ? How did that happen ? I was gathering my magic and then my weapons changed out of nowhere !" You almost said that you wanted a refund, but that would maybe be a bit too much, even moreso after Shirayuki's explanation.

"This isn't supernatural, so you do not have to worry." She started by saying. "You see, it is similar to how enchanted, blessed or cursed equipment work. They have a strong magical link, and taking advantage of this link will make something happen, unique to each and every single equipment of that kind. Making Primal Magic course through your weapons had a similar effect, and caused them to transform. These transformed weapons are far stronger than your basic swords, and their destructive potential is matched only by the most powerful of weapons when you manage to master it."

While her words started to make your brain work, she turned to Rei and Douma, motioning them to stop and to get closer, something that they did, before Shirayuki added.

"Now, since the three of you learned what I wanted you to learn, we have found a quest for you. The idea is simple : you will have to make use of everything you learned here if you want to come out on top. And trust me, this will not be easy at all to do so."

"But... Are we prepared enough for this ?" Asked Douma, visibly anxious about this, for some reason.

"She's right. We still haven't learned enough about what we could do alone, so we won't be able to do much once together." Added Rei.

Shirayuki glanced at you, waiting for you to take their side on this matter, yet you simply shook your head, showing that you didn't want to take a part in this. She then said.

"A party can make almost anything work with the limited capabilities of its members, and that is why so many questers are in parties. You do not need to worry, and we will stop this conversation here, as the sun is low on the horizon."

After having eaten dinner and taken a nice bath, you were walking towards your room, when you passed in front of Rei's open door. You got curious to see what she was doing, and so you peeked inside, to find no one inside. You knew that she had bathed already, so you started searching for her around the manor, passing in front of Kogai, Melda and Allit several times, to the point where they could be thinking you were crazy...

After some time though, you found her on a balcony, leaning against the railing. She looked depressed, which was unusual for her.
