Girlfriends

"Thanks for the help, Chloe," I smile at the sporty woman, as I hold the several bags of clothing on my arms.

"It's no problem," she said, a broad grin at her features. "Anything to help a hottie like you. Say, you wanna get something to eat?"

"I don't really have the money," I said, my head throbbing already at the overall price of all the new clothes. "And I don't really want you to pay any more than you already have."

Chloe barked a laugh and took some of my bags. "I don't mind, I kind of feel hungry after all this anyway."

With that, we left the clothes shop and went a few stores down to a cosy little restaurant. Inside, it was a mix of fancy and casual, with the waiters in nice clothing that wasn't overly dressy, and the overall environment had a laid-back feel to it all. When we were seated, all the bags were placed at our feet.

"Alright, what to eat..." Chloe took a menu and opened it.

I took my own menu, but didn't look for anything inside. Instead, I stared at the woman opposite me. It seemed strange that such a random person would be so kind, not that it was a bad thing, but this woman seemed in part bending over backwards for me.

"Chloe?" I asked, tapping the menu.

"Yes?" the woman smiled up at me.

"I hope you know, I'm eighteen, right?"

"Are you now?" she looked me up and down, her eyes appreciating every curve of my body. "Best looking eighteen-year-old I have ever seen."

"You seem, weird," I said, unable to quite articulate my words.

"Thank you," she smiled. "A lot of my co-workers think so too."

"What do you do for a job then?"

"I work for a special company that makes ****."

"Pharmaceutical?"

Chloe made a combination shake and nod of the head. "Kind of."

"Oh? Can you tell me anything about it?" I lean in. "Are you a chemist, then?"

"A tester," she said, taking a glass of water and slurping some before she continued. "Some interesting things happen, being one, you know."

"I bet," I said. "Dangerous too, being a tester."

"Nah," Chloe grinned wide. "It's super fun."

I was about to say something, when the waiter came.

"Can I have the crispy-chicken curry wrap?" Chloe asked.

When the waiter looked to me, I panicked and looked through the menu.

"She'll have the cod and chips," Chloe smiled as she handed over her menu. "Also, we'll have two fountain drinks, okay?"

The waiter wrote something on his pad, took the other menu and walked off.

"Are you a lesbian?" I asked, staring the woman down.

"I suppose I do really like women, so yeah, you could say that," Chloe sipped more of her water.

I thought about it for a moment, how in the past when I heard that a girl I liked had been dating another girl, I'd have been disappointed. Yet now, being a girl, that meant I could have such a relationship, and with a woman that looked good too. The thought of dating a guy appealed little to me as it did when I was a guy, that didn't change much at all. Really, aside from my body, what made me, me, remained intact.

"What, you wanna go out?" Chloe said as she reached out and took my hand in hers, planting a kiss on the back of my hand. "I could make you a very happy woman."

I gave it a little more thought, then nodded. "Sure, let's be girlfriends," I said, but paused for a moment. "But I think I need some time to adjust, okay?"

"Whatever you need, my tan beauty."

When lunch came, we ate, talked, exchanged numbers and left for my car, stuffing the bags of clothes into the boot of the car. Before I had the chance to enter my car, she took me in her surprisingly strong grip. She kissed me on the lips, and there I could feel a deep hunger, ravenous, lusty.

She pulled away, smiled and walked off.
