CHAPTER 12 - The Slut From Starlight
Miseo walked back into the dorm room later that night feeling thoroughly satisfied in a way she hadn't for a long time now - if ever really. The sticky residue of Mr. Lim's release still coated her skin from head to toe but at least he had been kind enough to provide her with some tissues beforehand so that it wasn't quite as noticeable at first glance.
However, there were definitely obvious telltale signs, like dried cum streaks in Miseo's hair or the way she walked a bit differently after being fucked so thoroughly against the office desk earlier.
As soon as Miseo stepped through the door though, Haneul glanced up from where she was studying on her bed with an expression of mild curiosity mixed with concern on her face - it wasn't often that Miseo came back to their shared room this late at night after practice.
“Hey there,” Miseo greeted her friend cheerfully. “Working hard as usual?”
Haneul looked up from her music sheet and noticed something odd about Miseo’s appearance. There was a clump of white substance on the inside of her arm. “What is that?” she asked. She had never seen anything like it before, but it kind of looked like shampoo.
Miseo glanced down at her arm casually as if she didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary. “Oh this? It’s just some new lotion I tried,” she replied with a nonchalant shrug, rubbing the white stuff onto her skin.
Fortunately, Haneul bought the lie and went back to reading. Miseo immediately hopped into the shower, remembering why she was always let men cum inside of her. If she didn’t, it was a bitch to clean up.
The next day at practice, Haneul was busy running through vocal exercises with her team when she noticed Miseo sauntering down the hallway towards the dance teacher's office. Haneul thought nothing of it and continued practicing, focusing intently on perfecting her technique under Yeona's watchful eye.
As they ran through their routine a few times, Yeona suddenly called for a break to adjust some aspects of their choreography. "Hey team," she began, "I just got word that the dance teacher will be joining us for our evaluation this week. We’ll need to step up our dancing too."
Haneul nodded along with her teammates as they all acknowledged Yeona's instructions. While Haneul was confident in her own abilities, she couldn't help but feel a twinge of concern over how Miseo would handle the pressure, especially since she didn’t get along with her teammates.
As practice resumed and Haneul threw herself into mastering the dance moves, she tried not to dwell too much on her best friend. After all, in this cutthroat industry, it was every trainee for themselves - or so they said. But deep down, Haneul hoped that maybe, just maybe, there was a way for them all to succeed together.
As the day of the evaluation dawned, Haneul could feel the nervous energy crackling through the air. She took a deep breath to calm her own nerves before heading out to find Miseo and wish her good luck.
When she finally tracked down her roommate, Haneul was surprised to see Miseo emerging from one of the storage closets tucked away at the end of a hallway. Her hair was disheveled as if she had just woken up, which seemed odd considering how early it was and that they were about to perform.
Haneul still didn't think too much of it though; after all, Miseo was always a bit unpredictable. "Hey there," Haneul greeted with a friendly smile, "I just wanted to wish you good luck before we go out there."
Miseo flashed a confident grin back at Haneul. "Thanks Han," she replied breezily, "I've got this in the bag." She reached up and fluffed her hair haphazardly as if trying to fix it on the fly.
Haneul helped smooth Miseo's locks into a more presentable style while still keeping the look natural. "There you go," she said encouragingly, "you're going to do great out there."
As they made their way towards the stage where the rest of their team was already gathering for last-minute preparations, Haneul sent up a silent prayer that everything would go smoothly.
This week’s evaluation was a bit different. It took place in a small venue filled with staff members, and cameras would be rolling as if to simulate a showcase stage. Though the footage would be used internally, the girls were expected to treat it like the real deal.
"Alright ladies," Kara said briskly, addressing Miseo and the rest of the members that gathered around them. "This is it - our moment to shine. Let's go out there and show everyone what we're made of!"
With a final round of encouraging smiles and side hugs all around, the two groups separated to make way for each other on the stage. Kara's team was up first, and Miseo took one last deep breath before joining her teammates in formation as they readied themselves to take center stage.
As soon as the music started playing, Kara's team launched into their performance with polished precision – a testament to all the hard work and dedication they'd put in over the past week. Miseo did her best to keep up as they moved through each complex sequence of dance moves, her heart pounding loudly in her ears as she tried not to let her nerves get the better of her.
But despite her efforts, Miseo couldn't help but feel like a fish out of water compared to the rest of her team. Her movements lacked their fluidity and grace, and more than once she found herself struggling to keep up with the pace set by Kara's flawless execution.
As they neared the climax of the song, Miseo knew there was only one last chance for redemption - a tricky solo sequence that would be her shining moment if she could pull it off. She focused all her energy on nailing each move perfectly as she came into focus under the bright stage lights, determined to prove herself worthy of this dream at long last.
But just as Miseo was about to execute the signature move that would cap off their routine with a flourish, disaster struck - her foot caught on the hem of her skirt and sent her stumbling forward right in the middle of the sequence. She managed to catch herself before she could fall completely, but the momentum carried her into a clumsy tumble that left her sprawled out awkwardly on the stage floor just as the final notes of the song faded away.
The other girls froze in place, their shocked expressions clearly visible even from Miseo's position downstage. Kara stared at her fellow trainee leader with barely concealed disgust before quickly recovering herself and leading a half-hearted round of applause for the camera to show that everything was fine - though it was clear to anyone watching just how disastrous the performance had really been.
As Miseo scrambled to her feet, feeling the hot sting of humiliation burn in her cheeks, she knew without even looking out at the crowd that they'd blown their chances with that last-minute mishap. All the hard work and practice had amounted to nothing because of her stupid mistake - a fact only cemented when Haneul's team took the stage next.
Their performance was everything Miseo's had not been - polished, energetic, and most importantly error-free thanks to their obvious teamwork and synergy together onstage. Yeona shone as brightly as ever in the center of it all while Haneul held her own with confidence beside her, their natural chemistry palpable even through the screen. Miseo was almost jealous of how perfect Yeona looked onstage with Haneul, and wondered if she could ever look like that.
When the team struck an ending fairy pose, the entire auditorium erupted into thunderous applause, with many standing on their feet to show their appreciation for such an amazing performance. Haneul could feel tears of joy welling up in her eyes as she looked out at the sea of smiling faces before her.
This was why she wanted to be a K-pop idol.
Both teams lined up for final judgment from the panel of judges and audience members alike, there was no doubt which one would come out on top - Kara's team had been a trainwreck compared to the sheer spectacle that Haneul and Yeona's performance had been.
And so, it came as a complete surprise when the results were announced. Miseo and Kara's group were declared the winners of the showcase, barely edging out their competitors. Despite Yeona’s obvious disappointment, her team put on brave faces for the cameras as they congratulated each other on a job well done before dispersing backstage once again.
Miseo lingered on the side for a moment after everyone else had left, feeling numb with shock at how things had turned out despite her best efforts to prove herself worthy of this dream she'd been chasing for so long. Kara paused in the doorway before turning back to face Miseo with an unreadable expression on her pretty features.
"Good job, I guess all that protein paid off," Kara said before walking away without another word - a gesture that only left Miseo feeling even more hollow than before as she watched her leader disappear down the hall. Although their team won, it didn’t feel like a victory.
As the celebration continued backstage after their hard-fought win, Kara and her team members exchanged high fives and hugs all around - a stark contrast to the subdued atmosphere surrounding Haneul's group just a few feet away.
Miseo glanced over at her team with an apologetic smile, feeling guilty for having let them down so thoroughly onstage despite her best efforts. She did her best to be supportive of their victory, but she couldn't help but feel like the odd one out in this moment after everything that had happened during their performance.
Meanwhile, Yeona sat hunched over with her head in her hands at one of the makeup tables nearby, clearly devastated by their unexpected loss despite all their hard work leading up to this day. Haneul looked over at her leader’s distraught figure and felt a pang of sympathy deep in her chest - she knew how much this moment had meant for both Yeona and herself.
Quietly excusing herself from the conversation she'd been having with one of her teammates, Haneul made her way over to where Yeona was sitting alone and placed a comforting hand on the other girl's shoulder. "Hey," she said softly, giving it an encouraging squeeze as she crouched down beside her friend. "Are you okay?"
Yeona shook her head without looking up from where her hands were clasped tightly in front of her, tears still streaming freely down her cheeks despite all her efforts to hold them back. "I don't understand," she whispered hoarsely, her voice thick with emotion. "We worked so hard for this... we deserved to win."
Haneul's heart ached at the raw pain in Yeona's voice as she listened to her friend express those same feelings of doubt and disappointment that had been plaguing her own ever since their performance ended. She knew it wasn't fair, and Haneul found herself feeling like maybe Miseo cheated them out of their deserved victory by some means or another.
But even as the thought crossed Haneul's mind, she quickly pushed it away with a shake of her head - no matter what Miseo did offstage, there was no way she could ever believe that her friend would resort to something like that just for the sake of winning a stupid competition. They were all in this together.
Haneul reached out to take one of Yeona's hands in both of hers, giving it a reassuring squeeze as she looked deep into the other girl's eyes with an unwavering expression of support. "Hey," she said firmly but gently, her voice low enough for only them to hear over all the noise surrounding their celebration. "I know this feels unfair right now... but I promise you that we gave it our all out there today."
Yeona blinked up at Haneul through a fresh wave of tears, her lips quivering slightly as she tried to hold back a sob at the other girl's heartfelt words. "But why did they choose them over us?" she asked helplessly, gesturing vaguely towards where Kara was still exchanging hugs with her teammates nearby.
Haneul frowned thoughtfully at that question, knowing there was no simple answer to give her friend without risking more hurt feelings than good in the process. "I don't know," she admitted honestly after a moment of contemplation. "Maybe... maybe they just had different ideas about what made for a winning performance."
Yeona scoffed bitterly at that, pulling her hand away from Haneul's grasp as she stood up abruptly from her seat and turned to face her with a look of pure anguish. "Or maybe it was because Miseo fucked half the judges," she spat venomously before storming off towards the exit without another word, leaving Haneul stunned in her wake.
As Haneul watched Yeona's retreating form disappear down the hall moments later, a seed of doubt began to take root deep within her.
Was it possible that Miseo had really used her connections to secure this win for her team? After all, Haneul recalled how distant Miseo was that entire week, and how she arrived late home late in the night. Did Miseo really do what Yeona said, or was she just mad that they lost?
Suddenly, the CEO of Starlight Entertainment strode into the backstage area where both teams were still gathered, his expression stern and unforgiving. The room fell silent as he approached the center of the room.
"Congratulations to Kara's team," he began in a booming voice that echoed off the walls, "on your well-deserved victory tonight."
Kara beamed proudly at the praise from their boss while Miseo tried her best to feign excitement despite her gnawing unease. She could feel Haneul’s eyes boring into her back like lasers.
"But let me make one thing perfectly clear," the CEO continued, his tone turning grave. "This was only the first step on a very long road to becoming true K-pop idols."
He turned to address the losing team directly. "As for you - I'm afraid I have some disappointing news. Effective immediately, all members of Yeona and Haneul's team... except for Yeona and Haneul themselves... will be packing their things and leaving this program today."
Miseo felt her heart plummet into her stomach as she watched the shocked expressions on the other team turn to horror and despair. She had never expected such harsh consequences for a single loss - but then again, in this industry, nothing was ever certain.
Haneul looked like she might be sick as she stared wide-eyed at the CEO. She could hardly believe that she was on the verge of being sent home after everything she’d been through. This was a far cry from the supportive team environment Haneul had grown accustomed to under Yeona's leadership.
As the heavy footsteps of the CEO faded away into the distance, an uncomfortable silence settled over the room like a thick fog. Miseo and Haneul stood facing each other, their eyes locked in a tense standoff.
Miseo's mind raced as she tried to process everything that had just happened - how close she had come to losing it all because of her lack of skill. She was only alive because she spread her legs for the right people, and she couldn't help but feel a twinge of guilt seeing the devastation on Haneul's face, knowing that she was partially responsible for ruining the dreams of talented trainees.
Haneul, for her part, felt torn between loyalty to her best friend and the growing suspicion that Miseo had put her at risk of being released from the trainee program. She knew deep down that something wasn't right - but was she ready to confront Miseo about it?
A heavy weight descended upon the room as the full reality of their situation began to sink in for both girls. The tension between them crackled like electricity as they each wrestled with their own thoughts and emotions.
Finally, Miseo took a deep breath and stepped forward. “Han…” she began softly, her voice above a whisper.
But before she could finish, Haneul walked away without saying a word – leaving Miseo alone with nothing but an aching heart and the realization that she was on the verge of losing her best friend.
