Why you're different

Tears were starting to well in your eyes. Tritera pulled you in for a hug. You're aware your dad and brother are still nearby. You hate that. Just a moment ago you were so excited to show off. Finally for the first time in your life you were going to prove yourself worthy. There was going to be something you could do that your brother's couldn't do better. And now not only is this lady telling you that you're not really a man, you're crying openly into her arms proving the point.

Tritera speaks softly now, she had been fooled herself by the charm but now she knew better.

Tritera : "normally male sorcerers are discovered early, any temper tantrum of a toddler will result in some minor casts. The guild will collect the young one and teach him to control his powers in a safe environment. Sorceresses have the added need for a medium and we can often make it well into adulthood before we are discovered. For the longest time it was believed that sex was required to awaken a sorceress' powers. Indeed it is not uncommon for young sorceresses to discover themselves aflame with the staff of her lover providing the passion and the medium both in one. But a regular stick and the right emotions can also serve as triggers"

Tritera sighs.

Tritera : "and then there is transmogrification magic. The same type that was able to form fire into a sword can also alter the body. Incredibly useful for disguising oneself and a thousand social purposes, transmogrification sorceresses are the envy of many of us. But there is frequently this cost."

She says gesturing at your body.

Tritera : "Casters naturally want a medium, it's instinctual. It's in the essence from the moment your parents come together and Weurgoth touches you with life. This can result in your transfiguration magic trying to give you one the only way it knows how. But body transfiguration isn't functional."

Tritera trails off, holding you tight.

Tritera : "you were never as strong as the other boys right? Weaker than someone your age should be?"
