Chapter 2 by Xexus Xexus

What's next?

Ahh it's like that then...

Long story short you were summoned into this fantasy world to defeat the Demon King and his Generals. The king and his summoners believe you to be Parsa and used an ancient statue of the hero, who defeated the first Demon King, as a vessel to bring you here. You aren't sure why you specifically were called, maybe the real Parsa was busy? Maybe your soul really is that of Parsa who was reincarnated on earth? In the end, it doesn’t matter too much because you have watched, read, played, or maybe heard of such things before so you found yourself nodding along with surprising comprehension. Your knowledge of the tropes and acceptance of everything only confirmed the King’s misguided hope that you were the Hero reborn.

The next month was filled with sword training and a crash course in this country’s history. Instead of a full education, you received the important events since you ‘died’ the first time. The demons, who mankind thought vanquished for good, returned under a new Demon King. This king had three undefeatable Generals who by their very life **** produced a barrier around the Demon King’s castle. Your(Parsa's) relics of power had been sealed in three temples. Each relic blessed by the goddess and each temple filled with tests and challenges only the true Hero could overcome. Etc. Etc.

All fairly standard stuff.

Unlike many stories you had read, you couldn’t see your level or stats. You didn't remember meeting a goddess after dying but you are pretty sure you still got a cheat power of some sort. After a few days you discovered you had some sort of extra ability to learn skills and unusually high strength.

The sword and armor provided to you felt light despite your delicate, almost fragile looking build. Also, as you trained, you mastered the skills of using the equipment in under a month, besting those who had practiced all their lives. The strength was most likely the body you were summoned into, but you had a hunch that picking up skills fast was your thing.

You were supernaturally strong, and you could learn skills and abilities from others which seemed to be a winning combination. But as per the legend, the hero must gather the three relics of power, then defeat the three Generals who power the barrier around the Demon Castle. So… you couldn’t just run up and punch the last boss in the face.

Your first task was to recover the legendary sword from a temple to the goddess in the west. The Demon army was getting closer by the day and if it were to fall into their hands it would make obtaining the relic that much harder. On the other side you knew that if you rushed into a fight with a General your quest may end right away from being under leveled.

Despite your misgivings you joined up with a group of knights heading that way. For the week of travel all went well, you could feel your strength grow quickly fighting monsters and training with the soldiers. But as you reached the only town between Cepheus’s castle and the temple you had to make a decision.

You could go with them and try to obtain the first relic or you could go to the adventurer’s guild to take quests and grow stronger.
