Chapter 2 – Putting the Team Together (continued)

With his choice made, Kaylen had only one position left to fill. “Who do you need next?” Tyrell asked. “Have any other roles you need filled, or are you good with a five man team?”

“One more.” Kaylen said. “I want a support unit or healer. I have some healing magic myself, but I have a lot of other capabilities that would be wasted if I’m **** to focus on healing.”

“A good unit to have, and certainly one that will round out your existing roster. Unfortunately dedicated healers are nearly as rare as dedicated combat mages.” The guild master replied.

“I know. And someone who can provide logistical support during battle and medical expertise in between should work just fine, and they should ideally be able to fight from a distance, so that they don’t get stuck in melee when they might be needed elsewhere, though that isn’t a strict requirement.”

Most of the waiting candidates had begun to disperse at that point, recognizing that Kaylen was almost finished and they likely didn’t have the credentials to fill the last position. But there were still a number of people for the guild master to check with before determining that there wasn’t a dedicated healer among them. “We’ll have to go to where the candidates might be found then, since they haven’t come to us.” He explained. “You can ask your team if they’d like to accompany us, or meet up with you later.”

With a nod, Kaylen moved to where his newly recruited team members waited. “Master Norrison and I are going to find a healer to fill out the final position on the team.” He announced. “The four of you can accompany me, or we could meet up somewhere else at a later time.”

They talked among themselves for a moment before Lyria stood up, “We’ll meet up with you later, I’m sure we all have equipment to grab before we head out. Did you have some place in mind to meet?”

“I’ll need to return to the guild hall to procure a contract, so we could meet here, or perhaps the market district, since I imagine we’ll need some supplies in addition to our individual travel equipment.”

“Let’s meet at the market then.” Lyria suggested, and the others nodded their assent.
