Weren't Rei and Douma frozen ?

As everyone congratulated each other as a way to relieve themselves from the stress of the fight, you remember one event of the fight that you clearly should not have forgotten : The illusioners and healers were imprisoned in ice, and wait... Rei and Douma were a part of said illusioners and healers ! So you turned to where the stalagmite appeared when it imprisoned them, and you saw some people coming to see their party members who were encased in ice a mere moment ago, before doing like them, coming to find Rei and Douma and check on them.

It didn't take long at all for you to find your vixen and angel friends, as the latter could be seen from afar with her wings in her back. You instantly started coming closer to them when you saw them, seeing that they were trembling because of the ice, but their clothes weren't wet, as opposed to what you've thought. Rei seemed to read your mind, as she said playfully, but with a voice as trembling as her body.

"Y-You didn't t-think about... T-that, did y-you, perv-vert ?"

"Depends on what that would be." You answer with a smile, before taking both Douma and Rei in your arms, hugging the both of them as you added, with a relaxed sigh. "I can't believe I'm alive..."

"W-what happened ?" Asked Douma, saying what Rei thought too, as curiosity overwhelmed the both of them because of your words.

Before explaining to them what happened though, you remembered that your bag was on your back, a bit like every other quester really, and you pulled two blankets out of it, as Lady Kogai yelled for everyone to hear.

"Everyone ! We will go back to the city after lunch, in two hours ! Until then, you are free to rest from the battle ! Well fought, questers, you can be proud of yourselves for facing and winning over the Chaos Legion !"

A loud cheer followed her words, as everyone but you cheered for this victory. You didn't feel like cheering, as you thought about Atsura and Permafrost's words about a plan for you. You then sighed while giving Rei and Douma the blankets you pulled out, before the three of you just sat there, the girls listening closely as you started counting the events that followed their freezing.

You told them how you tried to help Lady Kogai face Permafrost, before fighting Atsura by yourself for a bit, as Lady Kogai quickly helped you to fight him. You told them how you almost got Atsura but the right half of your body was frozen by Permafrost, yet Lady Melda came to the rescue, unfreezing you and giving a window for Lady Kogai to hit Atsura, and finally you told them how you fought Permafrost along with Lady Melda, almost beating him before he tried to kill you, with Atsura eventually sending all of you into darkness to end the fight.

As you counted all of this, you could see Rei's tail wagging, her ears perked up, while Douma's wings shivered everytime you talked about you being in a bad spot. It seemed like the both of them were suspended to your lips, and so you **** yourself to tell the story in the most mysterious way possible, so that they weren't able to even guess what would happen as you told them. Eventually, you ended the story by saying.

"At least I know I have to either train a lot or do a lot of quests to train my fighting, or else I won't survive much more of these. And I need to get another knife now."

"Don't worry, we're here to help too !" Said Rei excitedly, as Douma nodded. "You aren't alone in this !"

Before you could answer anything though, Lady Melda came closer to your party and sat right besides you, looking at you dead in the eyes as she said.

"I must thank you for saving Kogai earlier in this fight. If it weren't for you, Permafrost would have killed her." She bowed while she said that, so much so that her forehead was almost touching the ground, embarassing you quite a bit as you quickly replied.

"No worries about that, I did anything I could do to help really, and it showed me how weak I was..." You replied, looking at the ground as you finished your reply, but Lady Melda raised her head back, as she said.

"Since you saved her life, we need to reward you..." She started saying, but you interrupted her right away.

"No no no ! I don't want to be rewarded for this ! I'm sure she would have been fine anyway !"

The reply that you got came from your back, as Lady Kogai was standing behind you, saying.

"We insist, Adam, we want to reward you. And since you seemed to complain quite a lot about your weakness, I know what your reward will be."

But before she could say anything more, she was interrupted by a quester who started distributing what will be the lunch, made of bread, dried meat and another satiety potion, and you wondered if it really took you close to an hour or two to tell Rei and Douma about the part of the battle they weren't able to see.
