Late Night Research - Ending
Dev and Gabriella cleaned up - outside of the contents of her panties - and got dressed. Once he helped her with the copier, he returned to his workdesk, picked up all the fallen books and got back to work. But soon after sitting down, he looked at the time well into the witching hour, and having spent his time and energy, and ejaculate, throughout the night, he could barely focus back on a massive research task.
He had completed some before his lunch and library trip, and gave it the finishing touches. He decided it would be enough, as anything he would now add would likely taint the overall work.
He sent Shannon the email with attachment, drove home, joined a pissed off Aisha already in bed and drifted off into deep sleep - at least for the next few hours.
The Next Day
Dev woke up back to the daily grind. Sitting at the breakfast table with Aisha, he had to apologise for his behavious last night - all I wanted was a spark in the relationship but evidently, that was TOO MUCH to ask for. Once they made up, Dev left for work with baggy eyes and not enough sleep.
30 minutes after entering the office, Shannon arrived with a laptop in one hand and a coffee in the other - she had just come out of an 8am meeting with Europe. She walked up Dev.
"It was fine, but you could do better. I think you know that."
It stung because it was true. Dev felt relieved from how relatively nicely she put it. Then he realised she wasn't being nice; he's just used too her being a lot ruder. Fuck's sake. I'll get her back eventually, one of these days.
Now that the Late Night Research escapade was over, Dev wondered what else was in store. He thought it would be a good idea to catch up with Rose. He hadn't caught up with her properly since their first meeting, so he Teams'd her a message to meet up for lunch.
