Chapter 55
by
Zebra
What will happen next?
Wandering in the dark leads to unexpected opportunities.
Wandering in the darkness of winding underground corridors lasts a long time...
Unfortunately, due to the unfamiliarity of the terrain of this dungeon, the likelihood that you will get lost in a futile search for a way out increases every hour.
You're both exhausted.
A vague feeling that you are both moving in a circle, descending among the dark caves deeper and deeper into these gloomy dungeons.
The sad fact is that there is a high probability that you both simply descended to a deeper level of the dungeon.
However, at the moment when fatigue reaches its maximum, before your eyes you see some strange dilapidated passage among the stones covered with ancient bas-reliefs.
Oolok helps you throw away rocks that are blocking the passage.
You both go inside the dark room.
Shadows in the light of a half-orc's torch look frightening...
When they stumble upon an ancient room, the energy in the air intensifies, causing their skin to tingle.
There is something terrifying in the center of the room...
A stone pedestal covered with pentagrams and symbols of unknown meaning.
A pulsating sphere of dark purple glow that emanates from the symbols.
This sphere of energy surrounds a vile and terrifying creature, whose appearance is alien to this world and exudes emanations of wild hatred.
You can't take your eyes off this creature.
The size of the monster strikes fear into your soul - its height is about 10 meters.
His huge, pupilless, completely black eyes pierce your consciousness.
Three pairs of eyes study you with focused attention...
The ugly horned skull is covered with disgusting growths.
Huge leathery wings and a large tail with spikes and a sharp sting.
The monster's mouth is slightly open and inside, shuddering with fear, you notice several rows of razor-sharp curved fangs.
A disgusting long tongue that looks like a dangerous large snake.
Oolok also looks at all this...
The half-orc stunnedly says: “Fucking crap... Is this... Is this a bound demon?!”
Indeed, the half-orc's assumption is quite reasonable.
In the center of the room they see a pedestal with a bound demon, whose eyes are full of suffering and rage.
And upon closer inspection, you realize that this demon is holding in one of his four muscular arms a strange transparent vessel that emits a light bluish glow.
The demon utters words that, like thunder, fill the space of a dilapidated underground room.
The sound of these words from an unknown ancient language makes you feel a throbbing pain in your head.
Pain and a strange feeling of someone else interfering with your thoughts.
It is as if someone's powerful will powerfully invades your consciousness and studies your memories, your thoughts and your personality.
At first, you don't understand anything.
But then...
Then you hear a voice in your head: “Weak half-elf...Aren't you tired of being a pathetic victim? I smell your blood... The legacy of the Hyureeno elven family... They are not the ones who captivated me - but they are also part of the elven people, which I hate with a passion... I see your memories... The pathetic fate of a loser who is dependent on circumstances and always tries to escape … But now you’re in luck... I’m offering you a deal...”
You mentally ask, shuddering in horror: “What?! What do you want from me?"
Demonic voice in my head: “Your elven relatives wish you to die... For them, you are just a submissive and stupid animal... An animal for sacrifice...”
These words bring back vivid images of your escape from Tideblade Castle in your mind.
D e a t h of Franz...
All your hopes are cruelly crushed.
You feel bitterness, sadness, strong resentment and... anger.
Growing anger.
A passionate desire to take **** on your offenders.
You are filled with hatred for your elven relatives.
And the voice in your head is clearly pleased with this.
The voice laughs: “Yes! Feel the rage! Ha! Ha! Anger is good! The flame of anger must burn stronger! Feel that wrath and **** are the most important!”
Straining the last of your will, you manage to ask a mental question: “What kind of vessel is in your hand?”
The demonic voice reluctantly replies: “It doesn’t matter... The remnant of the old payment... The souls of many pathetic creatures... The payment that turned out to be bait in the trap... You must focus on anger. Ignite your anger! Destroy the outer contour of the circle of containment! And I will help you! "
Another thought arises in your mind: in addition to your anger and desire for ****, you think that you can free these souls.
This way you have a respectful and “moral” excuse for what you do next...
It's as if you are trying to convince yourself: "I will release the souls of this magical vessel... I will use the help of this powerful "creature" to thwart the sinister plans of my elven relatives..."
Feeling a surge of anger and responsibility, you turn to Oolok and say, "We cannot ignore this opportunity. We have a chance to gain great power! We need to release this demon and free these souls!"
At first, Oolok stands and listens to you with a blank expression.
Then a spasm passes through his body, he jerks his head. Probably this decisive “guest” also penetrated his thoughts.
Oolok nods in agreement, his face hardening in determination. "We will do what needs to be done..."
Taking a deep breath, both of you prepare yourself for the upcoming task. You reach for your weapon, holding it tightly as a symbol of your resolve. With each step closer to the demon, the room seems to grow colder and the air gets thicker with tension.
You are haunted by the sorrowful souls trapped within the vial, their cries for release echoing in your heart. You can't bear the thought of any more souls being taken, and you vow to do everything in your power to set them all free, including the demon bound before you.
As you and Oolok approach the demon, he snarls at you, but his anger seems more directed at his captors than at you. You can't help but feel a slight glimmer of hope. This could be the beginning of the end.
With Oolok's strength and your courage, you brace yourselves for the battle ahead, ready to face whatever challenges may come your way in the name of justice and redemption. "So one of the bastards has finally come seeking ****… you do know that even if you kill me here… I will only be banished back to my home realm." The massive demon growled, as he struggled against the mystical bonds holding him.
"But if you free me… I will kindle your wrath and help you take ****... I will help you kill many... The pathetic elves will pay for keeping me in this prison for many centuries!"
He paused to let the gravity of his words sink in. It was clear you held some measure of respect and fear for the demon's power. "What say you?" He asked, his deep voice shaking with an almost human-like emotion. You could almost see the temptation in his eyes.
“We must free him...” - you say this with complete determination in your voice.
Oolok spoke up, his voice strong and commanding. "I don't want ****... But I want to have power... I want to survive and become stronger than my enemies... Your help is our only way out of this. We choose to free you."
You and the half-orc unleash a hail of blows on the protective magical symbols of the pentagrams that ensured the strength of the “prison” of this demon.
As a result, after some time you destroyed the mystical bonds that held the demon captive.
A surge of energy filled the room as the demon was finally released. The air became colder and the pressure in the room increased, as if the battle had just begun.
“Finally I'm free! Ha! Ha!... So, I will help you in your quest to correct the mistakes you have made... but remember, everything has a price. The price of my strength is the lives of many. Now streams of elven blood will cover this island like rain! Ha! Ha! Ha!".
The demon warned, his eyes filled with darkness and knowledge of powers beyond their comprehension.
You and Oolok look in amazement at the creature you have freed... Soon you will see the "fruits" of your deeds...
