Early Evening

A man could get us to something like this. I woke up not too long ago and a smile was on my face when I saw Amber and her naked body was sleeping next to me. What happened before I fell asleep was like a dream, but it did happen. I looked up at the clock and saw it was 4:45 pm. We slept most of the afternoon away, and given how much time has passed I'm not getting to Viridian City today. That didn't matter to me right now. Right now, I have a sleeping beauty next to me, and I want to spend as much time with her as possible. I did my best not to wake Amber, but she soon woke up.

She smiled at me, "Morning," she said with a yawn.

"More like evening," I replied kissing on her forehead.

"What time is it?" she asked.

"4:45 pm," I said.

"I guess we were more exhausted than we thought," she said.

"I'm not complaining. I got to sleep with you before our journey begins," I said as I sat up.

"I guess you're right," she said snuggling beside me.

"You know, we don't have to," "I know," Amber interrupted, "But we have talked about this. My mom did get a single badge when she became a Pokémon trainer. She even tried to talk me out of becoming one, but I want to prove to her and myself that I can become a great Pokémon trainer."

I sighed, "Okay. It will be dangerous, but I know you will travel safely. Just promise me that every day, before you go to sleep, you email, text, or call me okay," I said.

"Of course, I will. You don't have to worry about that. Besides, I want to boast about what Pokémon I caught," she said. I smiled, and if I had my way I would have stayed in bed with Amber, but I heard someone call out.

"Dinner is almost ready!" my Mom shouted. Not wanting to make my Mom wait, Amber and I got dressed and headed downstairs. Mom was placing the last dish on the table for dinner. She looked at us, "Well it looks like you two enjoyed your afternoon together." A blush appeared on our cheeks, "Ow, don't worry about that. I know that your boyfriend and girlfriend, that you love each other, and that you're both old enough to enjoy each other's company. Just promise me that you will use protection when you do it."

"Don't worry about that. I'm on birth control medication, so I'm safe, and I'll stop taking it when I want to have children," Amber said.

"Now before we dig into dinner, there is something here for the both of you," Mom said grabbing two boxes from the kitchen, "During my errands, I swung by the post office and picked these packages from your father, Lucas."

"Dad got something for me and Amber?" I asked.

"Yes, the package for you is for your birthday, and Amber, yours is a late birthday present," Mom explained. Not sure what was inside, we both opened the boxes. There were two things inside the box. The first was another Pokéball and the other was a clear crystal ball.

"Is this a Tera orb?" I asked.

"It is. Your father was in the Paldea region when he sent those gifts," Mom said.

"Awesome! With the ability to Terastallize our Pokémon, we have a huge advantage in battles," Amber said.

"Now, who is in these Pokéball?" I asked as I opened mine up. In the flash of light, a green cat appeared.

"Sprigatito!" the green cat called out. This was followed by Amber when she opened her Pokéball. From her ball, a short red crocodile appeared.

"Fuecoco!" the crocodile said.

"Looks like my Dad got us both one of the starter Pokémon from the Paldea region," I stated.

Amber looked at my Mom, "You can inform your husband that I forgive him for not remembering my 18th birthday," she said.

"I figured you would. Now, who wants some food?" Mom asked. We all sat down to have some food with each other. It was nice, but it was bittersweet. This will be my last meal with my Mom until I head to Cinnabar Island. For now, I just wanted to spend time with them.

-10:00 pm-

Once we were done with dinner, Amber left for her home, but not before getting one more kiss from her. I watched some TV with Mom, while my Pokémon played with each other. Around 9:00 pm, I went up to my room with Cinder and my Sprigatito which I gave her the name Sage. For the next hour, I planned what I was doing and what I had to do to get ready for the Pokémon League. This also included giving Sage the TM for the move, U-turn, and giving Saga a special medicine ball to raise her stats how I wanted them. This was a similar ball I gave to Cinder before my battle with Gary.

After finishing my plan, Mom entered my room, "You alright, Sweetie?" she asked.

"Just planning out my journey, Mom. I'll be leaving early in the morning heading to Viridian City. After that, I know where to go, and what Pokémon to catch and train. It should be smooth sailing with Cinder and Sage by my side," I said.

She looked confused, "You are going to take Vivian with you?" she asked.

"I mean, I would like to take her, but that would leave you all alone," I said.

"I'll be fine, Sweetie. I can handle being alone for a while, plus Vivian has always been your Pokémon," she stated.

"Eevee!" Vivian spoke out entering the room.

I looked at Vivian, "Well Vivian, do you want to come with me and travel the world?" I asked.

"Vee! Eevee!" Vivian said excitedly.

"There you have it. I'll be fine, you go on your journey," she said and looked at the clock, "I'm going to head to bed now. I'll see you in the morning."

"Night, Mom," I said hugging her good night. She left shortly after to head to her room, "Well, girls, I think my Mom had the right idea. We have a big day tomorrow and the start of our journey together. So, let's head to bed and get a good night's rest?" They all nodded in agreement with that idea. I closed the door and got ready for bed. That was when I saw a message appeared on my phone. I checked and saw it was from Amber.

I couldn't help but smile, "Bring it on, Amber," I said placed my phone down, turned off the light, and went to bed.
