What's next?
Tranquility Disrupted
Elizabeth yawned, stretching out beside the pool. Mira and Monique were upstairs fucking. Jordan was still asleep. Maybe she should get a swim in. Maybe she should do yoga?
Whatever tranquility she aspired to was destroyed, as Katie stalked through the living room.
"I know," she said acidly. "I KNOW."
"Know what?" Elizabeth said, looking bewildered.
"I know dad ... became a woman," Katie said. She started crying, hard, angry tears. She'd kept it in until she and Peter got back, keeping a brave face, but she let it out now.
"Oh. Oh Katie," Elizabeth said, hugging her daughter tight.
"Why didn't you tell me mom?" Katie asked, tears welling once more in her eyes again.
"I told you it was a failed white relationship," Elizabeth responded. "And it was. We ended up in a different phase of our lives, and Douglas discovered he liked men. And he liked being feminine. That journey is none of my business. And if she wants to tell her story, she can tell it."
"Dana," Katie said simply. Elizabeth nodded.
"You always were good at detective work. She's married now. Dana Ferrari. But if she doesn't want to talk, don't make her. We all have to live our journeys as best we can."
Katie nodded, brushing more tears out of her eyes. Time to wrap this up, she thought. And then time to reward Peter for his loyalty.
