Nothing.

Keith waits for the blinding light from before, but there’s nothing. After a moment, Ava looks at her hands, seemingly confused.

“What? But I did everything perfectly! Why didn’t it work?”

Keith looks around. “So…what now?”

Gina grins, winking at him. “Hmmm…guess you’re stuck here. Might as well make the best of it!”

Ava shakes her head. “No, no. This can’t be right. It should’ve worked!”

Devin puts a hand on Ava’s blue forearm. “It’s not like you’re a master mage, Ava. It’s your first semester of magic studies. Maybe we should call Professor Theria?”

Ava’s eyes go wide, and she shakes her head. “No way! I’m not supposed to be doing summons yet! Do you know how much trouble I might be in?!”

Keith looks at the three of them. “Wait…you’re students?”

Gina nods, still grinning. “College students, yeah. I’m in on a sports scholarship, and miss fancy pants over there is a graduate student in magic. Kinda like doctor shit, you know?”

Devin rolls his eyes. “As you can tell, Gina’s strength is…her strength. The rest of us have to use our brains sometimes.”

Ava, meanwhile, has pulled out a phone. “I’ll just text her. She’s too scary to talk to about this…”

Devin shakes his head. “Ava is very smart, but she’s a bit timid. And her instructor is…well, let’s just say that she’s strict.”

Gina cuts in. “She’s a mega bitch. But like…in a sexy way?”

Devin laughs. “Okay, so I should warn you. Gina is always like this. I swear she has the mind of a horny guy in a woman’s body.”

Gina grins. “A sexy woman’s body!”

She flexes, and winks at Keith once again. Keith can’t help but laugh. “Honestly, I don’t mind. Girl knows what she wants.”

Devin sighs, chuckling. “Oh, you have no idea. You should see the body pillow she has. It has a picture of…”

Gina cuts in. “Nope! Not sharing that now!”

Ava leans back on the couch with a sigh, setting her phone down. “There. Hopefully she won’t be too upset, and she’ll know how to handle…”

The phone starts ringing, cutting her off. Looking extremely nervous, the slime girl picks it up, standing up as she does. “H-hello? Y-yes, ma’am. Yes, ma’am. Ma’am, I didn’t…no, ma’am.”

She walks away, out of the room as she continues the conversation. Grinning, Devin pats the couch next to him. “Well, may as well sit, Keith. Make yourself comfortable.”

Shrugging, Keith sits. Almost immediately, Devin scoots closer. Though Devin is a guy, the lizard boy could easily pass for a flat chested woman. Keith has to admit that he feels a bit of attraction there. Though he has never been with a guy before, it’s not like he hasn’t had the occasional fantasy.

Keith’s train of thought is interrupted as Gina plops down onto the couch on his other side. The big woman immediately puts an arm around his shoulders, a big grin on her face. She smells pleasant, like she freshly washed. It’s a floral scent, though there’s the barest hint of something underneath that.

Gina leans against him slightly. “Sooo…wanna have a little fun while we wait?”

Devin laughs. “Gina, you’re the worst. He’s not a sex toy!”

Keith blushes. “I think I’ll hold off, for now. I just got here, after all..”

Gina pouts cutely, but before she can say anything, Ava emerges from what appears to be the kitchen. “So…Professor Theria is…disappointed. And she said she’s coming over. Now. She said she’ll be here in…five minutes.”

Gina sighs. “Fiiiine. Fun can wait.”

Keith looks at Ava. “Should I be worried?”

Ava shakes her head. “No, no. Just me.”

Devin laughs. “Ava might have gone a bit far. But Professor Theria is really only harsh to her students.”

Ava nods. “It’ll be fine. She’s done her own study on humans, I understand.”

Keith nods. “Hopefully she knows what to do.”
