Slice of life

I woke up to the sound of someone going downstairs, taking a minute to stretch I proceeded to follow them down the stairs, reaching the bottom I saw Henry grabbing a few ingredients seemingly about to cook breakfast, he didn't seem to notice me so I said "your up early." slightly surprised he turned to me and said "I could say the same for you, I rested so much yesterday I could sleep much." I moved to the table and said "makes sense, your probably not used to standing still." he was now prepping the ingredients when he said "no, not really."

I watched in silence for a few minutes as he prepared the dish and putting a lid on the pot stepped away "there, now we just need to let it cook and breakfast will be ready." he joined me at the table before saying "I been meaning to ask you, how do you keep pulling items out of thin air or making them disappear?" slightly caught off guard by the question I thought for a moment "It was a gift from someone I know." he looked at me thoughtfully before saying in a joking tone "I need to meet your friends, they give such neat gift ideas." I chuckled before he followed by saying "so what else do you have in that inventory?" opening my menu I looked through "I don't have much honestly, my clothes, 2 more healing potions, some provisions, I do have the weapons I stole off that raiding party yesterday." his interest peeked he asked if he could see them to which I agreed, laying out the bows, axe, spear and shield and my own glaive he looked them over in fascination, picking up the axe be said "so this is the weapon that you got hit with?" smiling a bit I said "yep, hurt like a bitch too." putting it back down on the table he said "I imagine." before turning his attention to the spear and shield "Sienna?" "yeah." "could you show me how to fight?" "sure, is there a woodworker in town?" looking at me with a smile he said "Jefferson isn't a professional but he's pretty good, why?" "need training weapons, real weapons are too dangerous for beginners." nodding he agreed with me.

Hearing someone coming down the stairs I looked over and saw Marcus walking towards saying good morning which me and Henry returned before Marcus looked at the table and almost "where the hell did these come from?!" Henry responded first "from the goblins she hunted yesterday apparently, also I finally asked her where she kept pulling stuff from." Cassidy came down the stairs next and I had Henry explain my inventory for me which he did with passion, before asking Cassidy if he wanted to join him in training with me, she immediately agree and Marcus agreed it was a good idea, I also put the weapons back in my inventory and everyone sat at the table.

Henry stood and walked over to the stove after grabbing some bowls, Marcus turned to me "so what else do you have in that bag of tricks of yours?" "most of my other tricks are combat oriented but id like to keep them secret." Cassidy then asked "what tricks are you willing to tell us about then?" getting another terrible idea I looked her in the eyes and hiding a smile said "I have complete control over my fertility." Henry choked a laugh while Cassidy went red again and Marcus just looked defeated, after shaking his head Marcus asked "something else?" after thinking I said "I'm immune to most status effects including instant **** effects." they all stopped and looked at me shocked Marcus whispering "if your willing to tell us that what are you hiding?" I just smiled with a shit eating grin.

Henry finished dishing out breakfast and we ate mostly silently after what I said, after eating Cassidy asked "so what's the plan for today?" Marcus thought for a moment before saying "harvest season starts next month so we should probably set up a barn raising before we run out of time, were running low on meat so someone should probably go hunting, and the basic upkeep of the farm." I asked "do you 3 have much experience hunting?" Marcus answered first "Henry and Cassidy have been hunting since we moved here, I focus more on the farm." Cassidy said next "the deer should be pretty active right now so we could try hunting then work on the farm in the evening." Marcus added "ill head into town and try to get a time set for the raising, then I'll join you 3 in the evening." I asked Marcus "if your heading in to town could you ask Jefferson to make me a pair of training swords and staffs?" with a smile Marcus said "sure thing." thinking I said "I have some silver, how much do you think would be fair for my request?" Marcus thought for a second "let me see one of your coins." pulling a coin from my inventory he looked at it with some surprise before saying "this a pretty big coin, it should cover it easily, plus a tip." I smiled "then take it with you." smiling back at me he said "sure thing."

Marcus left for the town not long after while Cassidy and Henry grabbed 2 bows and 2 hip quivers from a box I'd ignored up until now while I pulled one of the orcs bows from my inventory, heading towards the woods Henry asked me "have you done much hunting?" I answered "not counting goblins, not much but I'm sure I'll figure it out." Cassidy chuckled "if you say so." Henry looked at me again "the dungeon is south right?" I confirmed "then lets head north just to make sure we don't run into any of them." Cassidy added "if were heading north lets go to that pond with all the frogs." Henry agreed and with that we all headed into the woods.

The forest was abuzz with the sound of small animals and insects, taking in the scenery while following the twins time seemed to fly and by the time we reached the pond almost 2 hours had passed, walking over to an especially large tree on the edge of the clearing surrounding the pond Henry looked at me "we usually set up on that wide limb up there. Question, how well can you climb?" looking at the tree I said "pretty good." Cassidy said next "think you can climb up there?" walking towards the trees trunk I said "easily." Cassidy replied "then start climbing." rolling my eyes I started climbing followed by the twins, getting to the large limb I was about 25 feet up with my 2 hunting partners quickly joining me, we didn't talk much mostly just waiting for something to come by for a drink.

It took about an hour before a small herd of deer approached the pond, waiting for them to get closer Henry asked who wanted to take the shot to which Cassidy asked for the go ahead to which me and Henry agreed.

A good sized buck approached the side of the pond we were on and started eating leaving himself an easy kill which Cassidy quickly took, pulling back an arrow she took a deep breath before slowly exhaling, releasing the arrow it flew true and struck the buck in the chest causing to try to run before faulting having seemingly been hit in the heart, the rest of the deer scattered and we all cheered at her perfect shot before climbing down to carry the deer home, throwing the deer on my back for transport we started heading back towards the farm, while we walked I asked "how often do you 2 hunt?" Cassidy replied first "Depends, for big game like deer its every 2sh months but we bag smaller game whenever we can, of course we don't hunt when there is a lot of work to do like during harvest time." nodding we kept walking.

another 2 hours pasted mostly in silence before we got to the farm, Heading to a part of the tree line pretty far from the house we set up the deer to hang for the next few days before it gets butchered.

By time we were done it was around noon so we took a lunch break, we sat in the shade eating some bread and fruit while drinking a weak beer, we talked about random things for a while, after a bit Cassidy left to go feed her goats so me and Henry kept talking, after a while I asked "so Henry, I heard that you and Cassidy were having trouble finding partners?" he sighed and playing it up he said "oh its been horrid, I need a wife to have children with but I can't even find a man to fool around with!" I laughed before asking "so you like men and women?" he looked at me with a cheeky smile "Cassidy too, she was heartbroken when a friend of hers didn't like women too." I felt bad for Cassidy at that, knowing the feeling "poor girl." Henry looked at me "it was a years ago, she's over it."

It was quiet for a moment before Henry asked "answer honestly, do you like me and Cassidy?" deciding to answer honestly I said "we've only known each other a few days but I like you 2 a lot and have considered a relationship with either of you, I'm just not sure." Henry thought for a second before saying "you know were just commoners, some fun in the sheets doesn't mean much, as long as no one gets pregnant, so if what you said about controlling your fertility is true then it doesn't need to be serious, unless we want it to be." I was tempted by the idea but still unsure so I asked "I'm just worried if I start a relationship with one of you I might hurt the other." he looked at me a little surprised before realization wash over his face before saying "Sienna, we can date multiple people at once." I looked at him surprised and asked "you can? I thought you guys only dated one person a a time?" he laughed a little before saying "most people only romance one person at a time but the church doesn't ban polyamory, at least Melanie's doesn't." I was a little lost so asked "is Melanie one of your gods?" he was surprised by the question for a moment before remembering I don't know anything "Melanie is the main god in the republic and she's fine with polyamory."

I only had one concern left so asked "you think Cassidy will be ok with me dating both of you?" he got closer to me "I know my sister, she'll be embarrassed but she'll still be happy as long as you treat her right, plus we're used to sharing our toys." he was right next to me at this point, he reached his hand to my cheek and pulled me into a deep kiss, after a minute we separated before Henry said "come on, lets go help Cassidy, we can talk more later" I kissed him on the cheek before we stood up and as we begin walking towards the field I wove my fingers with his and said "thank you for talking to me." he smiled "anytime."
