After some talking

"So, Ethan," Sam sighs, leaning forward in her chair slightly, "Are you excited for the fair?"

"I guess so?" Ethan thinks for a beat, "Haven't thought too much about it."

"Well, you should start," Ashley nods towards Sam, "She's basically the mastermind behind it this year."

"Mastermind?" Sam cringes slightly, "I'm not a super-villian."

Ashley rolls her eyes and then turns them to Ethan. "She's been working very hard to try and make it like it used to be."

"Used to be?" Ethan tosses a glance at Sam.

"Last few years," she shrugs, "Things were kind of shitty."

"Town council phoned it in hard," Ashley chuckles, "Instead of fireworks they had firework. Singular."

Ethan snorts. "You're joking."

"She isn't," Sam frowns, "They thought one big explosion would be enough." Ashley laughs, covering her mouth with her fist, while Sam continues. "Honestly, when I'm mayor-" Same cuts herself off, letting out a deep sigh.

Sighing, Ashley gives Sam a long look. "You'll get there, sweetie," she reaches out patting Sam's hand, "No need to rush things." Ethan sits there confused for a second, before Ashley turns her attention to him. "Sam wants to run for mayor, but-"

"Eheheh," Sam waves her hand at Ashley, "Stop it you," she turns to Ethan, "I'm going to run for mayor once I show this town I know what the fuck I'm doing."

"Oh," Ethan shrugs, "Well. You have my vote."

Sam frowns.

Ashley exhales. "Anyways. The fair. Ethan. You going with anybody?"

"Uh..." Ethan hadn't considered this. {if Heather=true}Heather is going to be in town. Bringing her is perhaps the best choice. {endif}Charlie does seem like a safe bet to go with{if Charlie sex=true}, although given recent developments..{endif}. Ashley seems to be inviting him, {if Ashley=false}but he thinks she's just making conversation rather than actually doing so.{endif}{if Ashley=true} which is also tempting given their recent interactions.{endif}{if Alex=true} He could bring Alex. {if Alex Sex=true}Things had been going well with her.{endif}{endif}{if Layla=true}Going with Layla was on the table, but something about going to the fair with a woman twice his age...{endif}

"That an invitation?" Sam gives Ashley an accusing look.

"It's just a question," Ashley gives Sam a mock frown, "But, Ethan doesn't really know many people in town yet, so...."

"Hm," Sam's brows raise for a second, then she shifts her gaze to Ethan. "I think she's giving you a pity invite."

"It's not an invite!"

Ethan chuckles, tilting his head. "I'll see how I'm feeling the day of. I might have an idea or two." He reflects again on his list.
