Catching them while they rest

Id been over an hour since I left the farm moving at just short of a full run before I saw a clearing ahead of me, as I approached the clearing I began hearing what sounded like angry yelling, hiding in the tree line I searched for the source of the yelling and I quickly noticed about 100 feet away on the other side of the clearing a group of goblins surrounded the hobgoblin who was yelling and pointing his sword at one of the goblins who was laying on the ground terrified with the orc standing off to the right of the hobgoblin just watching, looking again I noticed the brother and sister tied up and laying against a tree not far behind the hobgoblin along with a group of goats tied to a tree.

My intuition told me that the goblin probably didn't want their captives **** considering his yelling and the seeming protectiveness towards them and totally exhausted from my run here I decided to took a short break before enacting my ambush.

seeing a group of bushes on the edge of the trees I hid behind them before sitting down and pulling a waterskin from my inventory and quickly drinking it while watching and studying my prey. The 10 goblins I saw were all wearing loincloths, half had simple spears and the others unstrung short bows and stood 4ish feet tall on average while the hobgoblin seemed to be wearing a thick hide shirt and linen pants with a simple longsword and was about 5 feet tall, lastly the orc was wearing a dirty set of cloth pants and carried a 2 handed club and stood at 6 foot tall. Looking at their stats the goblins were level 1 to 3, the hobgoblin was in fact a level 1 tier 2, and the orc was level 6 tier 1, they each also had a pouch presumably with provisions and a few larger sacks probably filled with their loot.

after a few more minutes of yelling the hobgoblin seemed to finally lose steam prompting the orc to walk up to him and try and calm him down, this seemed to work as after another minute the hobgoblin yelled something at the other goblins who moved away from him and began eating their provisions why avoiding looking at him. The hobgoblin went to sit not far from their captives and was quickly joined by the orc who also began eating and seemed to talk to the hobgoblin who still seemed pissy.

Realizing this group only really stood a chance against me in a fair fight I decided an ambush was my best bet, taking a few more minutes to rest and now a little less exhausted I decided this was a good time to strike so slipping further into the tree I rounded the clearing until I was barely 20 feet behind the hobgoblin and orc.

Taking a breath to center myself I pulled my glaive from my inventory then rushed forward out of the tree line making a hell of a lot of noise, the orc and hobgoblin immediately reached for their weapons while turning towards me but between my stats and the time fruit I closed to gap before they had time to properly react.

My first target was the hobgoblin who I immediately thrusted my glaive straight through the chest with my glaive facing only minimum resistance from his hide shirt, next was the orc but as I tried to pull my glaive from the dying hobgoblin I realized it was stuck in his ribs, deciding to abandon my glaive I let it go and threw myself at the orc as he tried to grab his club, pinning him down with my massive weight I began clawing at him with my front paws cause massive bodily injuries before finishing him off with a bite to the neck crushing his windpipe and severing his jugular.

By time I was done with the orc the goblins had noticed me and had grabbed their weapons though the archers were still trying to string their bows, with a moments realization I grabbed my glaive before sending it into my inventory only to immediately resummon it in my other hand, with the main threats eliminated my main goal was to make sure there was no one to report back.

Rushing towards the charging goblins I shifted my grip so my glaive was pointing to my side and as the gap between us disappeared I swung my glaive in a large horizontal slash almost cutting the first 2 goblins in half, the third goblin tried to use the opening my wide swing left only to miss as I shifted my lower body 90 degrees, the goblin sailed past my side which I followed by slashing him along his back causing him to fall over.

The 2 remaining spearman hesitated for a moment before turning around and trying to run, not wanting them to escape I ran after them easily catching them with the short distance between us and my much greater speed, the closer goblin I ran through the stomach with my glaive before throwing him off it with a violent swing causing him to thud against the ground some 10 feet from me, the last spearman I harshly slammed against the ground with my front left paw before stabbing him through the the neck with a downwards thrust

As I slaughtered their comrades the archers had finished restringing their and as I ripped my glaive from the neck of my last kill they loosed a disordered volley at me, 2 arrows went wide, 2 more I dodged by jumping to the side, and the last hit home but failed to pierce my hide and hurt little worse than a papercut. Realizing the futility of fighting me the 5 goblins ran for the woods which I quickly gave chase.

Of the 5 that ran, only one made it to the tree line before I killed them and the last one barely made it 10 feet in before being disemboweled against a tree.
