You can't believe it. The marker actually works. "Doo mick fershdehs yets?", you try to answer in what's left of your high school German. (translation: Do you understand me now?)

"Schon besser, aber warum sprichst du so komisch? Warte, was hast du geschrieben?" (translation: Better, but why do you talk funny? Wait, what did you write?)

"Doo spricks Doytsh. Vaatuh, ick macks veg." (translation: You're speaking German. Hold on, I'll wipe it off.) You do as you say, and sure enough...

"German? But I don't know any German. You're the one talking weird."

"And now I'm not, right?"

"Right... Did you really just make me speak German? It didn't feel like I did. But if that proves it to you..."

"It sure does."

"Then what do you think about giving me a turn. I'll reward you handsomely." She winks and turns her forearms at you.
