Objective: SURVIVE!

We went through the doorway and found ourselves inside a new place, standing on some sort of wood flooring with fog surrounding us, not enough detail to really see where we were. First thing we saw was the screen to start pop up with a big red button on it. Before we could press it we were shown some of the different mission types available, two were hidden behind question marks but the other two were Battle back the Invaders, along with missions to take out specific named enemies. Not really knowing what to expect we all agreed to try and be ready for anything as best we could and hit the start button. The other two missions were revealed much to my surprise as well as Kali and Kitty's visible excitement as the fog faded away, Take out the pirates and Survive the warzone were revealed on the missions list as we saw that we were on a ship! Seeing Kali shaking and biting her lip as the realization sunk in that she would get to indulge in a LOT of swordplay had Marie giggling, Kitty was looking excited as well and it didn't help things when we saw it say there was bonus rewards for defeating enemies USING swords. Everything PAUSED as a new screen appeared offering a VERY large array of different sizes and types of swords, we saw the list showing everything from Katana, Cutlass, Rapiers, Bolo, Sikin Panjang and Dao to Tachi, Messer, Falcata, Claymore and Scimatars! The list just kept going!

Marie came up beside me as we both watched Kali's tail swaying back and forth excitedly, a little quiver in her legs at what she saw as we looked further through the list. "There's weapons here from every part of the world... It's beautiful." I couldn't help but chuckle and hug Kali from behind at her words, feeling her tail suddenly rub against my my bulge was a bit surprising, but her spinning around and giving me a VERY deep kiss nearly knocked me flat. Marie practically having to pull me away from her as she suggested picking some swords for the rest of us to use. Kali practically FLEW into searching through the list, quickly finding and pulling out a pair of Wakizashi swords for Kitty to use, with her phasing ability she'd definitely be deadly with them. Next up she tried looking for weapons that would fit for Marie's enhanced strength eventually deciding on a Falchion sword. Then came my turn and I showed her the martial arts I used, she spotted something I hadn't though, a weapons proficiency section that was hidden in my fighting styles screen. I saw several weapons I'd never used before that I apparently had proficiency with, it looked like they came with the fighting styles I'd selected. Anyways Kali decided on a few weapons for me I hadn't used before, so I could practice getting used to them, she also picked a few others I didn't have proficiency with though. Why? Cause the screen had said that I could gain new proficiency's by using new weapons in certain instances of survival training, this was a rare chance apparently.

So Marie got a Falchion sword, Kitty a pair of Wakizashi that she could use either one or both at a time, while Kali chose a pair of sabre's rather than using her own. The reason? The weapons offered to us would not be at risk of damage as they were essentially training weapons, she didn't like the idea of her swords being at risk and had no way of knowing what kind of enemies we'd be fighting so she didn't want to risk her blades. What did she choose for me? More than I expected as I found myself armed with a Kusarigama at my waist, an Odachi on my back, multiple Throwing swords with 1ft long blades that I was able to keep in my inventory and pull out at a moments notice, in my hands though was a weapon I wasn't expecting that I could gain Proficiency with, a double headed spear weapon called a Glaive. Following that I was handed a double edged Khanda sword and a pair of Butterfly swords, with that Kali stopped handing me things. Marie giggled into my ear that perhaps she wanted to get me used to other weapon types so she could have fun spars with me, at that moment I had to admit it certainly felt like it.

With Kali practically VIBRATING with excitement and everyone armed, the training truly began. First thing we see is that we're not just on a boat, we're on a boat that has locked itself using wooden beams into a formation with nearly a hundred other similar sized ships! Strong walkways established between the ships allowing for what looks like an army of Pirates to run along them, heading straight into a battle against an army of... Were those SAMURAI?!
...Okay so this felt a bit out of left field but hey might as well work with it right? So the training wanted us to fight through two different forces at once, using mainly swords... That's when a screen popped up explaining that we had a number of enemies we had to beat BEFORE we would be allowed to use flight or teleportation to move around. "Huh... Interesting restrictions..." I managed to get out, meanwhile Marie saw Kali looking weak in the knee's even as we heard her let out a quiet squeal of excitement. She was staring at a HORDE of enemies charging towards us, an army splitting itself to attack us as well as it's main enemy, no wonder she was so excited she'd get to indulge herself in so much swordplay here that she should have LOTS of fun.

She leapt into action, the rest of us following, everyone agreeing to try and stick together as best we could. Most of the pirate enemies that came at us wielded swords but there were several others with hooks and axes instead. The first wave of around 20 enemies came rushing at us fast, Kitty phasing through their attacks only to slice her own blades into them again and again. Marie's sword didn't just hit her opponents, it cleaved through the sword trying to stop her swing and the pirate behind the blade, her strength combined with a sword allowing her to slice through enemies with ease. She looked at her sword for a moment before continuing into the battle. I started by wielding my Glaive first, the double bladed staff like weapon allowing me to deflect attacks and slice at my opponents body as I tried to get used to the weapon, however it took little time for a second and third enemy to start attacking me alongside the first. I caught sight of Kali a moment later, an acrobatic display of swordplay as she seemed interested in toying with them a bit before seeing that there were many more enemies to go and slicing her way through them with ease.

I ended up blocking a pair of swords with my Glaive only to have to dodge a third, I managed to turn it into a spin and cleave the larger blade of my glaive through the neck of one of the enemies, their body vanishing a few moments later like sand being blown away by the wind. I saw more coming to attack me only for Marie to suddenly cleave through one of them, between her overwhelming strength and Kali's overwhelming speed this first wave was already halfway beaten. I managed to stab one of my attackers, ripping the blade up through their body where it sliced up through their chin and the front of their face, their body vanishing the same way as I swung my glaive towards the next one, two more enemies already running in to join. I had 3 left, Kitty was dealing with 3 more, Kali had 2 and Marie had 2 remaining before this wave was done. It took us no time to get through that first wave, with everyone helping each other once their own share of enemies was dealt with. Then we saw Wave 2 coming...

Wave 2: 100 enemies! Bonus objective: capture one of the marked ships to spawn your own reinforcements!

As soon as we saw that I looked over at Marie "Looks like we might be able to level you up quite a bit if we get enough forces and spend enough time in here." The smile on her face practically lit up the deck of the ship we were on, but nothing next to Kali's when she suggested that the rest of us move as a group while she pushes her way further into the enemies. "If I keep them busy it should free you up to lay claim to one of the marked ships yes?" While I agreed with her thought process I didn't like the idea of her going alone, no matter how much a swashbuckling fanatic she was. She pouted at me in response before Kitty suggested that we all head for the marked ship where Kali could capture it alone while the rest of us tried to keep enemies from interfering. THAT brought her smile back and sent her tail swishing about again, practically bouncing on her feet as Marie giggled and we set out to enact the plan.

Our trip there wasn't difficult, little more than a long path of us fighting through enemies. (Think the hallway fight in the video game Sifu for example)
We moved carefully, trying to take out enemies and work our way through slowly. My glaive was working well but I still had to back away so I could swing wide, too many enemies in the space ahead of us meant they couldn't dodge for shit, blocking wasn't doing them any favors either as one would get pinned to the wall only to be stabbed either by the others or my glaive going into their shoulder before ripping itself out to the side. The enemies began to back away, spread themselves out more, starting to adapt and use the space better, in a moment I charged forward to push them back, forcing them back before they tumbled onto each other in a pile. I stepped back and put my glaive to the side, Kitty and Marie slicing through the downed enemies while Kali kicked the door in and rushed inside. I switched to using the butterfly swords and found they felt very natural in my hands, most likely thanks to me having taken Wing Chun as one of my fighting styles. Kitty, Marie and I stopped here to hold our ground, that's when we saw the rest of the second wave approaching from behind and had to split our focus. "We're getting pincered out here Kali! Don't play with your food!" I called out back into the room as I turned to stop the enemies flanking us.

Kali meanwhile was inside, sabre's drawn, standing opposite a nearly 8ft tall enemy wielding a massive sword. Hearing my calling out she pouted but nodded her head before engaging her opponent. It was a total squash, her speed and flexibility allowed her to avoid his strikes with ease, while her attacks were weaker they were FAST, she sliced him all over as she tried to wear him down quickly, determined not to let this fight take long. Meanwhile I was using my butterfly swords to block attacks only to cut their hands and disarm them before stabbing or slicing into their bodies. It was working well and I was cutting them down quickly. I took a moment to look back and saw Marie go for a cleaving slice that tore through three enemies who's attacks were blocked a moment before, with Kitty though she was using her phasing to slip her weapons past their defenses while not allowing them to cut her in turn, she was going for a LOT of neck stabs and slicing actually...

We were fighting there for about 3 minutes straight, doesn't sound like a lot but that whole time we were focused on the enemies trying to trap us. I was starting to worry, surely Kali wasn't having trouble with whatever was in there right? Soon as I thought that I saw the distinguishing colors of the reinforcement ship change, now it counted as an allied vessel and moments later a good 50 Samurai came charging out, swords drawn and starting to fight back the enemies we'd been dealing with. A sigh of relief was had when I saw Kali come out, practically skipping with joy. "Everything alright?" I asked before hearing a very contented sigh leave her lips. "Everything's wonderful schatz~" She explained how she dealt with the large enemy, how she tried going for vitals and saw it dealing greater damage but the enemy apparently had a very large health bar. We watched as our forces pushed back the second wave, but the number of enemies didn't go down. "I see. Our forces are here to provide us with breathing room, a place where we can rest so we don't over tax ourselves." I'd barely said that out loud when I saw an enemy charging along the walkways towards us, a health bar appearing above him along with the title Commander. I suppose he was heading our way to try and take down the ship we'd captured? A pop up confirmed it a moment later.

Commander units will try and take back ships or territory from you and your allies, currently your reinforcements can only defend allied territory. However you and your team can capture additional territory in order to gain more numbers, as well as better troops. Should you gain enough they can be sent to gather up weapons or armor to better outfit your troops OR additional bonus points for you and your team to spend in the shop! The shop will open once every 5 waves, there you can switch out weapons if you wish to try other types, you can also gain additional points for defeating enemies as well as stopping enemies from using special attacks... Like the one you FAILED to stop because you were busy reading this!

Wait what? I turned my head a moment too late to see the wall of the ship EXPLODE inwards as the words SNEAK ATTACK appeared in front of us, an arrow pointing out where another 100 enemies had just come charging into the ship we'd captured. Wait... are those fucking french Musketeers?! What the fuck kind of battlefield IS this?!

Needless to say chaos ensued as we had to quickly start fighting back against these new enemies, that's when it said due to the sneak attack that the remaining waves up to wave 5 would all be coming at once! What the hell...Why? Just... WHY?!

Deadpool: Oh shit... Time to go!

An hour... It took us nearly an HOUR to deal with the assortment of Pirates, Samurai and Musketeers... thankfully there was only one boat of English knights, but I was so fed up with this random bullshit attacking us that I... I just sunk their boat before they could ram into and lock onto the rest of the fleet we were on. Explosive beams at the point their ship met the water line turned out to be a VERY fast solution, long as you don't listen to the drowning or the screaming for help... Hopefully we could focus now on the shop and whatever fresh hell came for us next. The first thing I saw in the shop? A blueprint upgrade for the Foundry, one that would allow me to heavily magically Enchant gear, and it was cheap as hell too! I saw a tool tip pop up that read "Take this as apology, the system had an error take place. Measures are being taken to stop such things from happening again." Well that was good to read at least, what I saw in the shop after that was several additional blueprints, resources, hell there was upgrades available for our troops if we wanted to use some of our bonus points for that. Everyone agreed that they needed a bit of rest, at least a short one. Well mainly Kitty. Kali looked excited to jump back into the action but Marie calmed her down for the time being. We got a 20 minute break, a timer appearing up over our heads counting down.

"Okay, lets rest while we have the chance... Something tells me things should be calmer now but it's still gonna be a problem. Also it appears that there is going to be more Musketeers, Kali you wanna deal with those?" I got an excited squeal in response as she practically bounced in place, Marie meanwhile pressed against my back, holding me as we both relaxed together. We all agreed we'd be trying to stay for as long as we could to get as much as we could out of the training session. So when the timer finished it's countdown we all prepared to head out and face off against wave 6.

This time there was no number of enemies, rather 3 different reinforcement ships with commanders in control that we needed to capture, WITHOUT losing the one we currently had. That was the moment the restriction on teleporting and flight was lifted, Marie instantly grabbed me and flew us towards one of the enemy ships to capture it, I saw Kali and Kitty heading for another while our troops went on the defensive to keep our ship protected. They wouldn't hold out long against the mass of enemies heading their way so we'd need to be quick about this if we were gonna do it this way. Thankfully the fights we had to deal with weren't too bad, but something felt off to me. Usually a couple hours in like we were now things tended to get harder, I couldn't help but wonder HOW. I certainly wasn't looking forward to finding out...

So half an hour later and after watching Marie BISECT one of the boss fights with ease thanks to her sword and her strength, now the four of us reached the last ship. We'd stopped when we got there cause something had changed once we'd gotten close, the sky had turned red, everything felt creepy, there also seemed to be like a dark miasma flowing from some of the ships now, including the one we were about to head into. Marie and I decided to wait for Kali and Kitty to join us before entering, we weren't willing to take a chance on whatever might be behind the doors of this ship. "So... I get the feeling this is gonna be bad..." Marie pat my head before Kali pushed the doors open, leading the way inside with Kitty right behind her as Marie and I followed them in. The door closed behind us a few moments later, then we heard several thudding foot steps, I threw out Appraisal on instinct... What the FUCK ARE THOSE?!

Additional Info: Gozuki is a demon meant to **** the wicked alongside Mezuki. Beware as he has attacks similar to Mezuki's. Gozuki's weapon is an enormous club with sharp spikes on it.

Kali's excitement fell, as well as the look on her face at the arrival of the two 15ft tall demons, both looking like they were dripping with blood. Dissapointed with being unable to have a proper swordfight with the bosses she sighed and prepared to do her best to simply put an end to this as soon as she could. The rest of us drawing our weapons even as Marie moved forward to try and get between one of them and Kitty. They roared out, each charging a different person, Gozuki's horns ending up stuck in the wall as Kali teleported out of the way. Mezuki ended up getting grabbed by the horns as Marie used her strength to hold it back, the demon's hooves trying to find purchase as they scraped and slid along the wood. Kitty moved fast to stab into Mezuki's neck, I brought down my Glaive onto Mezuki's neck as well, the three of us watching as a couple chunks of it's health bar were taken off.

Mezuki lifted it's head and shook Marie off it's horns, only for her to fly and swing her sword at it's face, another chunk coming off it's health bar. The demons barely had enough room to swing their weapons but it didn't stop them from swinging away wildly at us. We spent the next 5 minutes dodging attacks while trying to get our own in as best we could, it wasn't easy but in that time we struggled I caught sight of Kali... A teleporting WHIRLWIND of blades, slicing through the bull demon, covering it in wounds as it's health bar PLUMMETED rapidly. It took her maybe another 2-3 minutes to cut the demon beast down comepletely, the Demon falling and fading away slowly. By that time Marie's arms were hurting, she'd tried blocking a few strikes of Mezuki only for her arms to be left shaking from the blows. Now Kitty had climbed onto it's back and was stabbing into it relentlessly while I was trying to cut it's legs out from under it, attacking any spot that looked like there might be a tendon or muscle while trying to avoid the demon's bones. Kali's first move when she came to help us? Slicing the demon's EYES and blinding it. The roar of pain and rage we heard warned us moments before it gained a red glow to it and flailed around in a rage, eventually slamming itself back first into a nearby pillar as Kitty phased through it to land and get some distance. We'd gotten the demon down to about half health, with Kali's help it took us almost no time to deal with Gozuki as well.

Finally beaten, we got a warning that demons would be continuing to spawn from this point forward, we were also offered the chance to back out and continue this during the next training session, in case anyone wanted to switch out or we got busy with other things. We took the chance to head out. Now that DEMONS were showing up, I wasn't sure we should continue with this at the moment. The others agreed, so we returned and began to calm ourselves down. Everyone more or less heading off for their own thing, but before Marie left I got a blueprint for something I could make for her. I asked what she thought and she practically jumped at the chance, though she had a couple requests about it. Regardless I got started on the Foundry making a weapon for her while she and I headed off to go relax and hopefully get some sleep...
