This has been a LONG day...
Mission... Success?
When we came out of the training room it'd been a few hours later, those heading out for the mission had already left for it, by now they likely have already landed and started trying to rescue those that had been taken. I don't know how long the mission will take but I'm hoping that everyone will be alright... so why can't I shake this worry? I mean there's no WAY they'd lose to Stryker right? My worry didn't go away, I spent so long awake, my clones running around in full numbers to keep watch for any threats. It had been around 4-5pm when they'd left, I'd been told by Cable to get some rest, that he and Bishop would keep watch as best they could. If I hadn't been so tired I probably would have tried to stay up later honestly, but I headed to bed, collapsing and falling asleep shortly after.
The next morning when I got up, I awoke to see Magneto and several members of his brotherhood in the mansion, most looking like they'd only woken up recently. I got wrapped up in a hug by Rogue before she lead me to breakfast. I asked what was going on and... she explained that Stryker had executed one of the mutants that had been captured... Toad. Magneto and the Brotherhood had been furious. She told me how Jenny was being held in a room that was trying to overtax her regeneration, being put through constant ****. Stryker had done more but she didn't wanna talk about that. Then she told me the most important part. That people were STILL missing. "Wait what? But I thought Stryker had caught the others?" Rogue nodded her head a moment. "So did the rest of us Sugah. But we were wrong. Illyana, Tabitha, Amara, Cessily and Laura are all still missing." She explained. I couldn't imagine how Jenny was handling this. When they came downstairs it looked like Jubilee and Ororo hadn't gotten much sleep, not hard to figure out why.
"So what do we do?" I asked, feeling lost as to what to do now, sure clearly we go looking for them but where? "I'm gonna find them..." I spun around to see Jenny, fully dressed, looking like she was about to go on the warpath to find Laura, she was just reaching for her keys when Sarah snatched them up. "WE are gonna find them. Your not the only one that's gonna be looking remember?" Jenny glared at Sarah with a look that I was sure would have melted steel, looking like she was about to either knock Sarah out or worse. That was the moment that Betsy came back in, she'd gone with Titania to a Shield holding cell last night, looking tired as she did wasn't a surprise since it looked like she'd been up all night, but the fear on her face was different. "He... He's got them... S... Sinister..." Betsy was out of breath as she tried to explain, tried to tell us what she'd seen in Titania's head, she collapsed to the ground a few moments later from exhaustion.
Jean and the professor practically flew over to her, each checking on her well being, just barely managing to look into her mind and find what she was talking about. Jean explained to us that Titania had seen a huge green monster coming and going from Sinister's lab in order to bring in new subjects, that Titania had overheard Sinister talking to the monster about how four people needed to be gathered up to become... horsemen. Jenny wasn't looking at Sarah anymore... Jenny wasn't glaring... Jenny looked scared in fact. Sarah wasn't looking any better and the others all became on edge very quickly. The professor and Magneto seemed to move together, each taking to their people about how apocalypse had to be stopped and the others saved from becoming his horsemen. I watched as they agreed to work together, Sabretooth and some others weren't happy to be working together but other than that everyone started their search for information. The professor was quick to inform Shield and warn them of the danger ahead, meanwhile Mystique was heading out to try and learn who this green monster was and where it had gone.
I headed to another room, trying to calm myself down... I had a frantic thought that maybe I could wish to know where they were, so I foolishly tried to make that wish, despite the warning feeling I got NOT too...
Rogue POV
I was looking for Zane, he'd looked besides himself with worry, plus there was a meeting he was needed for. I wasn't expecting to round the corner and watch him SLAM through the door and into the wall though! "Sugah! What happened?!" I asked trying to help him up, his body shaking as I saw blood trickling down a bit from his nose. He barely managed to explain that he tried making a wish, to know where the others were, but the backlash hadn't been just mental this time, it was physical as well. Like kinetic **** had suddenly SMASHED into him. Then he explained that his power wouldn't allow him to wish for information like that, to know what was going to happen next was something that he was thoroughly denied.
Zane POV
I struggled to walk my way to the meeting, managing to make it in time before things started. Jean worriedly rushed over, fussing over me like a concerned mother for a few minutes. I was asked what had happened and explained about the wish, how my power wouldn't allow me to make such wishes for additional information. For a moment I didn't understand WHY, but then I got my answer. If I simply wished for the information then something else could change, another enemy could show up, another event could take place, there was no telling how much WORSE things could get. If I STILL wished for the info after that WARNING SHOT then I could get it, but there was no WAY I was prepared for what would happen afterwards. Not if that backlash was anything to go by...
Okay... Just relax... So... NO future information, I'm gonna have to get THROUGH these events as they come at me. Can't cheese my way through it... FUCK! I'm still being locked out of my level ups! Good news is it should unlock in the next few days, but we need to find those that are missing ASAP! I found myself being hugged from behind at that moment, turning my head I saw Marie. "Sugah, you gotta try and calm yourself. I know it's frustrating, worrying, hell terrifying even to know that the others are missing. But you have to take care of yourself otherwise when it's time to help them you'll be too exhausted to do anything." I know she's right... I know she is but it's driving me crazy still.
My explanation had calmed some of the worry, the others having gone back to their discussions on where to look to learn more about WHERE Sinister was hiding. Eventually it came back to finding the huge green creature that Sinister had sent to kidnap those still missing, but the main problem remained. How would we find him? We had no name, no distinguishing features, no info other than they were tall, huge and green. Not a LOT to work with, we also didn't know if this creature had any abilities to hide their appearance or not, if they did then that would make finding them much more difficult.
My phone vibrated in my pocket about that time, it was Peter. I asked what was going only to hear "Is that job still on the table?" I chuckled a moment, welcoming the distraction from the current situation. "Of course it is! If your able to start tomorrow then everyone can meet up and hopefully we can get all the equipment we need brought in soon as possible. Or if you'd prefer to start getting equipment ordered today then we can get started right away. I'm sure the others on the team will be excited to start getting everything together as well." From there Peter agreed to start today, it was a new morning after all so why not start with meeting the scientists he'd be working with right? So with that I went to make sure I was ready for the day, only to be stopped by a notification informing me that The Foundry needed my attention.
Getting back to the Foundry I found there was a new terminal set up next to the adjoining training room, one that allowed me to buy things from the training shop or even sell excess resources for more points. That's a welcome addition, with how busy things are getting I may have trouble with being able to train for awhile... First thing I see in the shop? A bundle of Blueprints, on sale no less! Included in the bundle were weapon upgrades, as well as a few of what was called MASTERWORK Blueprints for a new claymore sword, a long handled hammer like weapon called a great maul and finally what appeared to be a... IS THAT A FUCKING ENERGY BOW?!
So yeah... took me a minute or two to get over how cool it looked, but after that I set it to be made and headed out to meet with Peter and hopefully have everyone be introduced to one another in a peaceful manner...
