It’s Riannon

I turn my head to see who it is. It is not someone I know.

“Are you alright?” She asks me.

“Uh, yeah.” I say. “Just … overwhelmed.”

“I can tell.” The girl says. “The twins got me like that 3 years ago. Shame on them for abandoning you like this. They should have stayed until you could tell them you were alright.”

“I-it’s fine.” I say and I place a hand on my forehead. “I’ll be alright. What about you? Have you had your guy yet?”

“Not yet, I still have to find him.” She answers. “But I’ll make sure you are alright first. My name is Riannon. Need me to help you up?””

“Yes, thanks.” I say. “My name’s Igraine.”

“Well met, Igraine.” Riannon says. “Let me help you to the path. You will feel much better once we’re there.”

As we are walking to the path, Riannon tells me about herself. I learn that her father used to be with my clan and participated in one of their Samhain events. He ended up impregnating the girl he caught and decided living here, and that is how Riannon was born.

“I see. So, you are the reason your dad had to leave his clan.” I joke.

“Please don’t say it like that.” Riannon says smugly. “It’s not like I meant for it to happen. Rather, I prefer to see myself as the person who kept my parents together.”

“It was just a joke. Don’t worry about it.” I let Riannon know. “But yeah, it’s great meeting you. I kinda feel it’s like meeting an estranged cousin for the first time.”

My conversation with Riannon lasts for a while. But when I learn that she is a Samhain child, my mind starts to focus more on my own predicament then my conversation with her. When it was time for Duncan to spread his seed, my mind was too shattered to care. I was no longer thinking. So, I never told him to pull out. I am pretty sure he left his seed inside me. So, I may actually end up with a Samhain child of my own. Meaning I could end up with someone like Riannon in my life. Ah, why did the twins have to make me lose control like that?

Eventually though, we get spooked by some footsteps behind us. Riannon and I turn around to see who it is, but a thick cloud has gotten in front of the moon, so it has become hard to see. Riannon takes my hand and pulls me close to the nearest tree. We both huddle next to it and in the darkness, I’m sure we just make the tree seem like it has a pretty thick trunk. As we are hiding, the figure comes close to us and seems unaware of our presence. Would he really not see us? This is actually pretty exciting. Almost as exciting as being chased.

Then some moonlight makes it past the clouds and we are able to see the guys face.
