Chapter 62 by Squickfantasies Squickfantasies

Another dream, but there's something different about this one.

It's so bright!

Sarah opened her eyes. She was laying in a field of ferns. Tall trees rose to the sky, branches stretching outwards. Even though she was under the tree cover this place was incredibly bright. The green light hurt her eyes. Sarah squinted, attempting to get used to the new environment. This place smelled of life. She could smell sickly-sweet flowers, the muskyness of the ferns she laid in and the pollen on the air. It disgusted her.

She stood up and dusted herself off. 'I can't go looking for Fendoriaen like this. He'll regognise me immediatly. I need to be clever about this,' Sarah thought to herself. She started weaving magic, drawing life from the ferns around her which wilted as she strode through them. Satisfied that she had gathered enough, Sarah spoke the spell's words. Illusory magic surrounded her body.

Her ears grew longer, turning into sharp points at the end. Her skin changed from a very light shade of pink to darker pink until eventually becoming completely purple. She felt herself grow taller as well. Her robe changed from a dark maroon to shades of green and brown. Her breasts expanded slightly to fit her new frame. Sarah had her companion Melinae in mind as she shaped her appearance. But instead of teal, her hair was green and it wasn't braided. Oh and she had a little extra appendage she was quite sure Melinae didn't posess. Other than that, they could have been twins.

Sarah was satisfied with her new form. It was basic magic. Any person with even a bit of magic talent could sense it and dispell the illusion, revealing her true self. Unfortunately Fendoriaen was such a person. She had to distract him away from her appearance and towards something else. But first she had to find him. Sarah used her knowledge of the Dream to deduce that if their bodies were close in Azeroth, they had to be close here. After all the Emerald Dream was a reflection of her own world.

She moved quietly through the forest, looking for signs of the druid's passage. Soon she encountered her first wildlife. A large gray bear was standing near a brook, turning rocks while looking for food. 'Perfect,' Sarah thought. A plan had been forming in her mind. She would fake being chased by a wild animal, running into the druid on accident. He would be focusing on the animal, while she struck him from behind.

She just had to get this animal under control. The hulking gray bear hadn't seen her yet. She was downwind from it, preventing it from catching her scent. Sarah already knew her magic worked in the Dream. She could ambush it with magic. Subdue it with fire and shadow and steal it's soul when it was weak. But that would make noise. Attract unwanted attention.

Option two was to sneak up on it and deal it a decisive blow before it could react. But that was risky as well. If it spotted her before she could get close enough, she wouldn't have time to defend herself before it struck. There was a third option. Sarah could approach the bear carefully, show it she meant no harm. Speak with it, maybe even seduce it. She knew a spell that could let her speak with beasts. And when she had gained its trust, she would strike.

How does Sarah deal with the bear?
