Lux is able to grab a weapon and sneak away

Lux holds her breath as she slips into the room. Her heart pounds so loudly in her chest that she feels sure the bandits will hear – but even if that were possible, the bandits themselves are making far too much noise of their own. With cautious, trembling steps at first, but gaining confidence, Lux moves quietly behind their backs.

Ducking behind a pile of discarded goods, she sees a short sword left within her reach – not her weapon of choice, but better than nothing. Gingerly, she pulls it free and takes it with her as she moves on. The bandits continue to laugh and boast and argue, none the wiser.

Her eyes dart from one side of the room to the next. Either exit could lead to safety. The only thing that’s certain is that if she stays still for too long, she’ll be caught, and it’ll all be over.
