As Luna continued to kiss his neck, Varga couldn’t help but wish it was Selena he was with. She was the only woman for him. He felt arousal as her touch, but his heart couldn’t let him do this.
“I’m sorry,” said Varga as he gently placed a hand on her shoulder and nudged her away. “But I can’t do this.”
She looked at him blankly for a moment, she’d probably never had anyone turn her away like this.
“It’s not you, Luna. You’re beautiful. But I have something I must do. Please do something for me. When you see Marco, tell him we made love.”
Luna nodded solemnly, and Varga quickly exited the room.
He returned to the ballroom, looking around and noticing that Giuliette was missing. Hopefully Selena would find her way to the tiara safely. He couldn’t help but feel his heart race, something felt off.
He headed out into the corridors towards the upper floors, though guards stood watching the stairway. Only the Reyes family were allowed up there. It would be pointless trying to sneak past them, or talk his way by.
There wasn’t much else he could do now but wait for Selena to return with the tiara.
