Our First dungeon run

The next day we woke up early and ate breakfast. Then we packed up and left the inn. Roxane led the way to the cave.

“So, are you ready?” I asked Roxane once we reached the cave.

“Yeah!” she nodded excitedly.

“Alright then. I’ll take point. You follow me and cover me from behind with your bow.” I unsheathed my sword and walked into the cave. Roxane followed closely behind with her bow drawn.

The cave was dark inside, but luckily there was some light coming in from outside. The ground was hard stone covered in patches of dirt and rocks. There wasn’t much of a path to follow, so we simply moved deeper into the cave following the walls.

Suddenly a green skinned creature jumped down from above. It had pointed ears and red eyes. Its teeth were sharp, and its claws looked deadly. “Goblin!” I yelled as I drew back my sword and swung at the creature. The blade cut right through its neck. Black blood splattered everywhere. The creature fell to the floor lifelessly.

“Holy shit!” Roxane yelled as she hid behind me.

“It’s fine. That was just a goblin. It’s not that strong,” I told her. “Keep moving.”

She took a deep breath and nodded. “Okay. Let’s keep going.”

We kept exploring until we found a room filled with goblins. They immediately charged at us. There must have been about 10 of them. I drew back my sword and began hacking at them. One after the other they fell. Roxane shot arrows at the ones trying to flank me. Once they were all defeated, I turned around to check on Roxane. She looked a bit tired, but otherwise okay.

“Are you alright?” I asked her.

She nodded. “Yes. Just give me a second to catch my breath.”

“Good job,” I smiled. “You’re a pretty good archer.”

“Thank you,” she blushed. “And you...you’re very skilled with that sword. You took them out so easily.”

“Well, thanks to you covering me from behind I was able to focus entirely on attacking. It’s a team effort,” I explained. “Let’s keep going.”

We went further into the dungeon, fighting off goblins as we went. We came across various treasure chests containing gold and loot. After exploring for a while we finally came to a boss room. At the center of the room stood a large green creature with huge arms and legs. Its body was covered in muscles. It wore nothing but a fur skirt around its waist.

“That must be the leader goblin,” I muttered. “Get ready, Roxane.”

“I’m ready!” she nodded confidently. “Let’s take this thing down!”

I rushed forward and slashed at the goblin. It blocked with its arms. I used this opportunity to leap back and allow Roxane to shoot it full of arrows. It roared in pain and charged at us. I rolled to the side as Roxane dodged behind me. It swiped at me again, but I managed to dodge each time. Eventually it ran out of stamina and stopped to catch its breath.

“Now’s our chance!” I yelled as I dashed forward and slashed it multiple times. It tried to defend itself, but my attacks were too fast and too precise. With one final swing of my sword, the goblin king fell to the ground. Its body burst open and a white orb popped out of its chest. It floated upwards before disappearing into our bodies.

I felt a surge of energy flow through my body. My injuries healed and I felt stronger than ever. Roxane must have felt the same way because she suddenly let out a moan.

“Ohh~ that feels so good!” she cried out.

“What?” I asked her. “What happened?”

“The orb healed my injuries and boosted my stats!” she grinned. “I feel amazing!”

"Me too!” I laughed. “Let’s head back to the guild and deposit our loot.”
