Chapter 17

What's next?

Aftermath

Author Note : So to me the fantasy of a harem is only complete if it is accompanied with being a chad on other aspects like going to battle, being a leader or an adventurer and in a fantasy world it implies some worldbuilding and tons of stuff that isn't sex. To balance that I have made a binding vow : I can't write 2 consecutive chapters without something sexy happening and I can't write 5 consecutive chapters without sex happening. You are encouraged to hold me accountable to this in the comments.

I slowly drifted back to consciousness, a dull ache throbbing through my body. The first thing I noticed was the soft, cool sensation of a wet towel being changed on my forehead. I blinked my eyes open and found myself staring directly into Mirajane's cleavage, her ample breasts barely contained by her bra, leaning just inches above my face.

"Good morning, John," she greeted me with a warm smile, her voice soft and soothing. "You’ve been out for two days."

"Two days?" I echoed, my voice weak and hoarse from disuse.

Mirajane nodded, her smile never wavering. "Yes, you handled an incredible amount of magical energy in your fight against Kargalgan. Your body needed time to recover."

I struggled to sit up, wincing as pain shot through my limbs.

Mirajane gently pushed me back onto the bed. "Take it easy. It's a miracle you're up and about so soon." Her eyes flickered down to the tent in my sheets, and her smile widened ever so slightly. "You seem quite... healthy, all things considered."

I felt my face flush with embarrassment as I realized what she was hinting at. I tried to cover myself with the blanket, but Mirajane only chuckled softly.

"Don't worry about it," she said, her tone playful. "It's a good sign. Now, let’s get you up and moving."

She helped me out of the bed, her hands surprisingly strong and steady. She handed me a sturdy wooden crutch, which I gripped tightly as I tried to steady myself.

"Take it slow," she advised, her voice gentle but firm. "You've been through a lot, and your body needs time to adjust."

With her help, I took my first few tentative steps. Each movement sent jolts of pain through my body, but I gritted my teeth and pushed forward. Mirajane stayed by my side, her presence reassuring.

With Mirajane's steady support, I hobbled out of the infirmary and into the bustling guild hall of Fairy Tail. The hall was packed with familiar faces and some I didn't recognize, all engaged in lively conversation or celebrating small reunions. The atmosphere was electric, buzzing with the energy of recent victories and the return of comrades.

"What's going on?" I asked, leaning heavily on Mirajane.

"Two of our guild’s parties have returned from their expeditions," Mirajane explained, her voice carrying a note of excitement. "And that includes two of our S-rank mages: Erza Scarlett, also known as Titania the Fairy Princess, and Luxus, a lightning mage with incredible strength."

My eyes scanned the room until I spotted Erza, her crimson hair unmistakable. She stood tall and commanding. Near her, Luxus sat with his legs resting casually on a nearby dining table laden with food and drink. His presence was imposing, and the air around him seemed to crackle with latent energy.

Luxus and his team appeared to be arguing with Marcus, his face flushed with anger, was gesturing animatedly, while he remained seated with a look of disdain on his face, his feet still propped up on the table.

Mirajane sighed softly. "Luxus and Marcus never really saw eye to eye. Luxus has a strong personality, and sometimes it clashes with others."

"—and that's why you're all weaklings!" Luxus was saying, his voice filled with contempt. "Ada is a disgrace to S-rank mages, and the rest of you are a disgrace to Fairy Tail!"

Marcus was visibly shaking with rage. "You don't know what you're talking about, Luxus! Ada fought like a true warrior, and she nearly died trying to protect Wano! You think you're so strong? You weren't even here!"

Luxus sneered, his eyes flashing with irritation. "I would have taken down all 200 of those orcs by myself. Maybe if you weren't so weak, Ada wouldn't have had to fight them alone in the first place."

Marcus's muscles bulged as he took a threatening step forward. In one swift motion, he violently threw away the table Luxus was resting his feet on, sending plates and cups crashing to the floor and scattering food everywhere. "Say that again, Luxus. I dare you."

Luxus remained seated, his face a mask of disdain. "You want to do this, Marcus ?" a spark of lightning ran across his body.

Marcus's voice was low and dangerous as he stepped even closer, his fists clenched at his sides. "You think I'm scared of you? You're nothing but a coward, Luxus. Talking shit after the storm's passed. You weren't here to fight, so shut your mouth."

The tension in the room was palpable, and it seemed like the argument would escalate into a physical fight.

"Enough!" Erza's voice cut through the argument like a blade, and both men turned to face her. Her eyes were blazing with authority. "We are a guild. We stand together, or we fall together. Luxus, you need to respect your comrades. They succeeded in protecting the city. And Marcus, control your anger. We need to be united, not divided."

Luxus rolled his eyes and stood up from his seat, still smirking. "Whatever, Marcus. I'll be here when you finally decide to toughen up." He walked towards the exit, his voice trailing off.

The tension in the room remained thick as Marcus stood there, his fists still clenched, watching Luxus leave.

After the tense confrontation with Luxus, I felt a wave of exhaustion hit me again. Mirajane guided me to a quieter corner of the hall, where I could see Marcus, my mother Sarah, Jasmine, and Lily gathered together. My heart lifted at the sight of my loved ones.

"John!" Jasmine exclaimed, her face lighting up with joy. She rushed over and enveloped me in a tight hug, her warmth and familiar scent calming my frayed nerves. "I was so worried about you!"

"I’m okay," I assured her, smiling as I held her close. "Just a bit battered, but I’m alive."

My mother, the loving and beautiful Sarah, stepped forward, her eyes filled with relief. "You had us all worried sick, John," she said, her voice gentle yet firm. She placed her hand on my chest and leaned in to give me a maternal kiss on the cheek. "But I’m so proud of you."

"Thanks, Mom," I replied, feeling a swell of gratitude. "I couldn’t have done it without everyone’s support."

Lily, the nerdy, busty red-haired alchemist, approached with a shy smile. "I’m glad you’re okay, John. I was worried about you too."

"Thanks, Lily," I said patting her head. "It’s good to see all of you."

As I greeted them, I noticed a new group approaching. Erza Scarlett, with her commanding presence and crimson hair, and Lucy, who seemed particularly eager to meet me. Her eyes sparkled with excitement, and she had a bit of a fan-girl aura about her.

"So, you’re the one who took down Kargalgan?" Lucy asked, practically bouncing with energy. "That’s incredible! What was it like?"

I chuckled, a bit taken aback by her enthusiasm. "It was intense, to say the least. But we all played our parts."

Lucy laughed at my response, her eyes never leaving mine. "I bet! You must have some amazing stories."

As she continued to ask questions and laugh at my jokes, I couldn’t help but notice how close she was getting. Her body language was suggestive, and I felt a bit flustered by her attention. Before she left, she leaned in, her voice dropping to a more intimate tone.

"We should hang out later, John," she said with a wink. "I’d love to hear more about your adventures."

Just as Lucy was about to walk away, my helicopter mom, never missing a beat, made a passive-aggressive comment. "It’s wonderful to see such enthusiasm, Lucy. Just remember, John needs his rest and has plenty of support already."

Lucy paused, giving my mother a polite but somewhat strained smile. "Of course, Mrs. Doe. I’ll be sure to give him plenty of space."

As Lucy walked away, I couldn’t help but chuckle at my mom’s protectiveness. Jasmine squeezed my hand, giving me a knowing smile.

"You’ve got quite the fan club, babe," she teased.

I shrugged, feeling a mix of amusement and embarrassment. "I guess so. But honestly, I’m just glad to be here with all of you."

Marcus, who had been watching the exchange with a smirk, clapped me on the shoulder. "My man, you got your eyes on the little Lucy fairy?"

I chuckle nervously trying to steer the conversation away "Anyway, what happened while I was out."

Marcus talks to me while guiding me outside "We managed to capture some of the orcs alive and question them. Apparently they were hired by someone else to clear out the region before their coming. That's why so many orcs sightings happened in the region. And before you woke up, they came."

"We got attacked again?"

"No, they just came in a castle that can teleport."

"A castle that can teleport ?"

When we get outside the guild he shows me a looming a castle towering over the mountains. "Seems like we found it, your castle to the north. But you won't like to know who's in it."

Mirajane adds "The moving castle is the property of the Lord of the Night : Vladimir Dracula Tepes."
