Chapter 5 by checker625 checker625

Does she go overboard?

She fills a closet

Katie burst into the office to escape the winter squall and quickly shut the door behind her. She had a coffee in each hand and a bag from the dry cleaners draped over her arm. Placing the cups on a small table that Mr. Cowall had recently bought, Katie began her new morning routine. It was fifteen minutes after nine; her trip to the dry cleaner added an extra ten minutes to her pre-work routine, but she knew Mr. Cowall didn't mind. It was, after all, to his benefit.

Katie hung the bag on a coat rack before bending over to unzip her stylish winter boots. She stepped out and onto the cold tile floor with socked feet. After placing her boots next to Mr. Cowall's on the little shoe rack beside the door, Katie brushed some errant snow flakes off her parka and work slacks. She grabbed the bag and cups once again and padded out of the entryway.

She quickly scurried over to her boss's desk and placed his coffee in front of him. He was in the middle of a phone call, so he didn't pay her any mind, but he quickly grabbed the latte and took a sip. After placing down her own coffee and the garment bag, Katie removed her parka, revealing a sensible white turtleneck underneath. She knew that her turtleneck was pretty form fitting and that Mr. Cowall would try to ogle her breasts. With a sky smirk, she shot a quick glance towards her boss while she hung her jacket on the rack. She was wrong, however. His feet were up on his desk and his eyes were looking at the ceiling as he spoke into the phone. It was still early, she thought.

Katie grabbed the garment bag and made her way to the janitor's closet, passing the mop and bucket which were unceremoniously left out against the wall. She opened the door to the closet and went inside, being sure to let the latch make a loud click as it closed.

Ten minutes later, the door opened again, this time from the inside. "I gotta go," she heard Mr. Cowall say followed by the clatter of his phone on the desk. Katie emerged from the closet with a wry smile and a burning cheeks. No matter how many times she had done this, she still felt subconscious. She did her best to ignore Mr. Cowall's gawking face, but it was truthfully one of her favorite parts of her morning routine and she couldn't help but acknowledge his stare with a giggle. She felt his gaze vigorously drink in every inch of her body, and it felt great. Katie remembered when his leers felt sleazy, but now they felt so rewarding. She craved his attention.

And he had good reason to give it to her too. When Katie walked out, gone were her turtleneck and slacks. Instead, she wore a black lace blouse which was sheer enough to make out the navy bodice underneath, and a layered white skirt that flowed just above her knees. The sound of her black patent heels clicked on the tile floor as she swanned by. The two remained speechless until Katie made it back to her desk and made a show of tucking her skirt as she sat down. Katie had a sly grin on her face and Mr. Cowall was busy picking his jaw up from the floor.

"Good God, am i ever glad I had that converted into a walk-in closet," he finally said.

Katie chuckled in response and took a sip of her coffee. "Now you just need to find a spot for the mop," she said. She casually wiped some of her lipstick from her coffee lid.

"Forget the mop! I'll just get one of those little robot vacuums," he said, "What's another thousand dollars into this investment anyways?" Mr. Cowall's eyes were still tracing her every curve, even with her sitting. He seemed to linger on her boobs and Katie briefly wondered about wearing something that showed off some real cleavage. She couldn't believe she used to be annoyed by his gaze. It felt nice to be admired and appreciated, even if it was for her body, and it wasn't as though she needed his gaze more than anyone else's, but the office was the only place she could get away with wearing cute clothes. If Jake knew that Mr. Cowall was buying her clothes, boots, shoes and makeup, he would flip, but Jake wouldn't know if everything just stayed at the office. So that's where she was allowed to be cute. What he didn't know couldn't hurt her.

"Thanks again, Mr. Cowall," Katie said. She made her voice sound a bit more sultry when she said his name. It kind of made her feel like some movie starlet, and being a little flirty with her boss could never hurt her chances to receive more clothing.

"Trust me, Katie, it's my pleasure," he said. His eyes were finally looking at her own and she felt herself float into their arctic endlessness. "You've been such a good employee." Mr. Cowall deliberately paused.

"Good employee..." Katie felt herself think. She liked being a good employee. It's what she always strived to be.

"It makes me happy that you've been such a good employee," he continued.

"Happy..."

"I figure you deserve to be happy too... Don't you agree?"

Katie nodded. She deserved to be happy. Feeling attractive and feminine definitely made her happy. Wearing cute clothes made her happy. Being looked at made her happy.

"Good girl," he said.

"Good... Wait, what?" thought Katie. Her eyes darted around the room. She quickly realized she had zoned out again.

Mr. Cowall smirked. "Well, we've chatted for long enough. It's probably time to get some work done," he joked.

Katie couldn't really remember what their conversation was about, but she agreed with Mr. Cowall. The Richardson project wasn't going to finish itself. She was really excited to knock it out of the park.

**

It was nearing lunchtime and Katie was dead focused on her workstation. The Richardson account was the biggest solo project she'd been given, and she really wanted to impress her boss. It was important that she show him how good of an employee that she was, especially now that she was dressing a bit more risqué at work; she needed to prove she was more than just tits and ass.

"Hey, Katie," said Mr. Cowall.

She snapped to attention and turned to her boss, who was still looking intently at his monitor. "Yes, Mr. Cowall?" she asked. She knew she sounded like a bimbo secretary when she said that, but it just felt like the right way to address him.

"I'm booking my hotel for the conference. Just wondering if you've changed your mind. Don't you agree that you should come with me to this conference?"

Katie drew in a sharp breath. They'd been through this ad nauseum. She knew it would be an amazing learning opportunity. She knew that she deserved a break from the drudgery of routine. She knew that a good employee would seize any opportunity to advance in her role.

But none of those reasons would outweigh the cost it would have on her relationship with Jake. She couldn't go on the trip, and that was final.

"Things have been good between Jake and I lately," she said. Mr. Cowall was still intently looking at his screen, but she could tell he wasn't happy about what she was saying. "He's even stopped with the 'Kate' phase... But I still just don't feel comfortable going on a trip with you for a week."

Mr. Cowall sighed. "Have you even spoken to him about it?"

Katie shook her head, her auburn hair waved to and fro. "No. I think he'd be upset if he thought I was even considering it." She really wished her boss would drop the idea. The subject always gave her such anxiety.

"Then don't tell him you're going with me." Mr. Cowall tore his gaze from his monitor to look Katie in the eyes. She felt her body soften in response and her anxiety drifted away. She cocked her head in response to his statement, as if she didn't understand what he was implying. "Yea, just don't tell him you're going with me. Tell him it's a work trip, a convention, I was planning to attend, but I can't because of a family emergency or something. Just tell him you're going in my place."

Katie let his words flow through her head. Could she really do that? Could she lie to Jake like that? The answer was far easier than she expected. Obviously she could. It'd be a little lie. No worse than her lie of omission about the clothing. It's not like she was going to do anything with Mr. Cowall. She wouldn't dream of cheating on Jake, he just didn't seem to understand that. Really though, if he didn't know, then she'd be in the clear and she could take a break from work while still seizing this opportunity to advance her career.

But what if he found out?

What if she was tagged in a social media post? Or what if Jake called the office while they were both gone? What if he grew suspicious and hired a P.I.? No... He couldn't afford that... But what if Mr. Cowall posted a tweet that was geotagged? If Jake found out, he'd know she lied to him, and then he'd come to the obvious conclusion that she was sleeping with her boss... Even though she would never!

Katie sighed. "No, if he found out, it'd be over between us."

Mr. Cowall failed to hide his disappointment and irritation. He looked back at his computer and furiously clicked his mouse a few times. "Fine," he said, "But I've scheduled the office to be closed down during that time, so you'll have to take the week off."

Katie cast her eyes downward and her hands awkwardly played with the fabric of her skirt. Her face flushed red with embarrassment. She hated disappointing her boss. She really wanted to be a good employee, but there were some lines she just couldn't cross. "Yea, you told me that already. I'll be fine for the week." She smoothed out her skirt from where she was playing with it. "The worst part is that I'll have to go back to only wearing boring clothes for a week," she half-joked with a small smile.

Mr. Cowall's head snapped back to Katie, like a dog that heard his dinner bowl get filled. Katie looked up in response. His blue eyes were wide as if he'd suddenly realized something. Her own thoughts became sucked into the crystal lake irises.

"That would make you sad, don't you agree?" he said quickly.

'Sad' seemed like an odd word to use for it, but Katie figured he was kind of right. She had really enjoyed feeling feminine and pretty and stylish. She'd definitely miss it. Weekends had been hard enough, but now just thinking about going for a week without her pretty clothes began to bring tears to her eyes.

"Yea... I would be sad," she mumbled while trying to hold back her tears.

"Well, you don't need to cry. If you come with me, we can pack up that entire closet and you can wear anything you want. All week long. Doesn't that sound nice?"

Katie nodded. A full week wearing nothing but stylish outfits sounded really nice. She wouldn't have to change into ugly clothing just to lie to her fiancé. She could just wake up and make herself pretty before leaving her room. That sounded really nice. But it didn't matter. Katie still knew she couldn't go on the trip, which meant she wouldn't get to look attractive for an excruciatingly long week.

"Wouldn't it make you happy to be able to wear all your pretty, sexy clothes with me?" Mr. Cowall continued. His eyes drew her in further.

Katie felt her body sink and relax. She nodded again. It would make her so happy to be able to wear her pretty clothes all week. Her sexy clothes. She smiled thinking about all her stylish outfits, her chique blouses, her pretty shoes, her flirty skirts, her sexy stockings. She could flaunt them all in front of Mr. Cowall all week. It'd make her so happy.

And she deserved to be happy. She was such a good employee, after all. Why shouldn't she be happy? But she'd have to go on the trip to be happy...

"I'm sure everyone there would love to see how happy you are in your sexy, slutty outfits."

"Sexy," she mused with a smile, "Slu-" Wait. What? Katie blinked. She sat up straight. Had she zoned out?

"Don't you agree," Mr. Cowall began again. Katie felt the world cloat away from her. She slumped back into her chair. Mr. Cowall continued, "That you'd be so happy showing off for everyone there?"

Katie nodded. That would make her so happy. She deserved to be happy. She needed to go on that trip with him. Jake didn't have to know. She could lie to him. What he didn't know...

"Don't you agree that you should come to the convention with me?"

Katie smiled. "I do."

Does she go to the convention?
