Leroy sliced the turkey, his hand shaking mightily. He made it through the first slice, and then Elizabeth spared him the continued effort, slicing the rest for the family Thanksgiving.

It was a time to celebrate, of sorts. Leroy was getting mighty old, but was still virile. Emily was off the drugs, happily married to her wife, Deondra. Erin was in full-bloom as a transgender woman, full of life and spirit, chatting animatedly with her sister Katie and her husband Eugene. And Katie's son Leroy had just been born, a kinky-haired bundle of joy.

On the other side of the table, she watched, lips quirked in amusement, as Douglas vainly tried to fend off the amorous attempts of Luther. Finally, Douglas gave in and the two disappeared into the guest shower.
