Opening Position

Roxy clicked her tongue as her mind raced into action. The Gadget Stripper was useless unless she could lure Kirsty into it. The girl looked athletic and a little tricky – perhaps even physically tougher than Mia.

I’m not falling for that again. Mia got too close last time. Way too close. That won’t happen this time. Kirsty’s caught me on a bad day.

Roxanne continued to watch her tablet as she stalked through the array of hidden passages throughout the mansion's innards. The sterile lights lit the way, automatically turning on and off as she moved through their range.

Today, Roxy sported an oversized hoodie in deep maroon, the color contrasting with her wild orange hair. She also wore heavily distressed loose-fitting jeans with rips and tears throughout, exposing glimpses of her pale legs beneath, held up by a studded belt. Finally, she wore purple high-top sneakers, an extra splash of color, and a hint of street.

Because on some days, I just can’t be fucked dressing up.

However, Roxy had put effort into her makeup. Dark, dramatic eyeshadow and thick eyeliner accented her piercing eyes. Her lips were painted a near-black shade of plum, framing her evil smile.

Roxy came to the end of the passage. Beyond this wall was a small closet leading to the side of the marble staircase. This was where things could go wrong if she weren’t careful. Stealth would allow her to get into position to ambush Kirsty.

And this is why I didn’t wear boots.
