Chapter 2

Where Does the Story Begin?
[V. The Kirsty Saga] The Threat
A new figure had entered Roxanne’s mansion, but it wasn’t someone new to play the game. Instead, it was a woman who had once lived at the mansion before its owner’s messy divorce and the family split.
Roxanne, the Punk Princess, sat opposite Jessica, a raven-haired beauty in her mid-20s. She couldn’t touch this person because it was her older sister. Jessica visited rarely and, really, only to see her father. Today, it was just Roxanne and Jessica inside the mansion. In fact, they were sitting on the patio next to the pool on two wrought iron chairs.
No, I’m not a vampire. I can go outside in the sun… I just don’t like to.
“What the hell is wrong with you?” asked Jessica.
She glared back. “What?”
“You know what.”
Roxanne shrugged. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
Jessica’s lips, a vibrant shade of red, twisted into a frown. “Yes, you do. You might be smarter than the rest of us, but I’m not stupid.”
“Much smarter than you, I might add.”
“I’m not fucking around. I saw that damn website of yours after you decided to invite people over here. It’s illegal. I’m surprised the cops haven’t been here already. Does daddy know about this?”
Roxanne rolled her eyes at Jessica. Since she graduated from law school and entered the legal trade, Jessica had become even more of a bitch than usual. She’d done all the research to ensure nobody could prove anything in court. It was why she withheld names and censored faces. The images and videos she posted were carefully curated to avoid all that.
Plus, who would be stupid enough to tell the world about their own humiliation when they didn’t have to?
Jessica sighed. “Of course, he doesn’t. You were always his favorite. He only ever saw the good in you – not that there is any.”
“Charming.”
“I’m serious. This has to stop.”
“Or what?” Roxanne smirked. “You going to sue me?”
Jessica clenched her fists in front of her. The young lawyer knew she didn’t have the resources to pursue a legal strategy, and she wouldn’t get far trying to drag her family into a courtroom anyway. Everyone knew that.
“I’m just asking you to stop. I know this is some weird thing of yours. The site said as much. Just start dating or something and be normal.”
“Fuck off.”
“Now, who’s the charming one?”
An awkward silence settled between them for some time. Each waited for the other to make a move. Neither of them had ever gotten along with each other, even when they were younger. The family split, resulting in Roxanne being separated from her sisters, but it wasn’t a sad moment for either side.
“Look, is this all you came here to say that you disapprove? You could have said all this in the text and saved us all a lot of time. I’m very busy.”
“I came here to tell you to stop before it goes badly for you.”
Roxanne’s grin widened. “Badly for me? And what’s that supposed to mean?”
