A Taste of Desert

Before anything else, Yulia passes around a waterskin and everyone takes a drink. Goma strips out of her armor and into the swim trunks letting out an exhalation as she immediately feels a bit cooler. After that it's Lri's turn. She steps forward and creates an illusion of herself that proceeds to proudly march towards the cave entrance. The illusion notably leaves no footprints.

"Huh... Something to note, the illusion might be less effective in the desert, given it wouldn't take long for someone to spot the lack of effect on the sand," Lri mentions to the others. They all make a note of this.

The Lri illusion reaches the entrance and the trap indeed triggers. Long, thick looking red tentacles lash out from the dunes, grabbing for the illusion. The tentacles are dripping with some kind of slime as they fruitlessly try to grab the illusion.

"Ugh looks like tongues..." Cherchiel comments with obvious disgust.

"I think they are tongues, look at the way they move," Yulia responds, slightly fascinated while also disgusted.

"Oh you're right, they're not just trying to grab the illusion, look at the way the tips are trying to run over it, they're trying to lick... to taste..." Isalia starts and then coughs, "I think I'll be sick if one of those things touches me..." she admits putting her hand over her mouth.

"Alright so... the mouth of the cave is guarded by large tentacle tongues... Not ideal," Yulia says and Lemiel is watching with obvious anxiety.

"I uh... Think we found the path leading to Bal'zaibul," she says nervously, "I mean I don't know that for a fact, but the giant mouth and tongue weapons kind of screams Gluttony Demon to me," she adds.
