"This used to be known as the White House of the Panhandle," Barbie said conversationally, showing Samson around the spacious mansion she resided in alone.
"How did you meet Mr. Putnam anyhow?" Samson asked. Barbie paused.
"I'm going to be honest with you. More honest than I've been able to be with the public. I met him at a strip club."
"No shit?" Samson asked, surprised.
"Still in business. Maybe I'll take you sometime," she said, winking slyly.
She showed him upstairs. There were two pictures on the wall. One with a blonde that had a striking resemblance to Barbie and two young children. One that was with her, John, and three older children that all looked to be about Barbie's age.
"Who are these of?" Samson asked.
"So inquisitive," Barbie said, smiling. "This is my ... predecessor, Cathleen. And this is of me and my three stepchildren that were from Cathleen and John. This is my daughter, Joanie. She lives in San Francisco with her husband, Marco. This is my daughter, Sam. She lives in Los Angeles with her husband, Jared. And this is Chad. You might remember him from his gridiron days."
"I've seen him a time or two," Samson said. Something didn't seem right. "Cathleen is with a son and a daughter. I remember reading John's biography. It said Cathleen died in childbirth, and the son survived."
"I don't know what you're talking about," Barbie said airily. She gave an extra wiggle of her hips, her ass shaking to distract Samson. "Now, back downstairs, we have the kitchen ..."
