Amanda sat out on a lounger by the pool. Her toes drifted through the water. You lay beside her.

"Everything okay?" You broached it uncertainly. She'd been quiet all day.

"Yeah. Just ... going to miss Bruna," she said.

"You love her?" you asked.

"Yeah. I love you too, of course, silly. I love all the people I've been with, in their own way. But 100 days with Bruna has been special."

"You want to call it off? Just pick Bruna?"

"Yes," she said, before dithering. "No. Maybe. She's great, but we agreed to a process and I think we need to stick with the process. I'm just sad the 100 days is ending, that's all."

"So who's next?" you asked, rolling over onto your belly, giving your thonged ass some sun.

"Well, we'll need to make a visit to the homeless encampment. He's going to be so happy, and that makes me happy," Amanda said, smiling for the first time that day.
