Maple sets to work converting EMP Grenades as Yulia identifies the gun.

"Shutdown gun, essentially a gun converted to shoot stun bolts that also have a deleterious effect on technological systems, essentially a mixture of a stun gun and an EMP. Like the plasma rifles it is currently being powered by the cities systems, but will require an alternate power source once off this floor. It is incapable of dealing lethal damage,"

"I don't think Del is dead... Or I guess I'd rather not believe that Del is dead, but something is definitely up," Maple admits, "I don't want to believe that he's somehow behind this either, this isn't something he'd do, even in his darker moments his view was always external, honestly the worst version of Del would be the version that created Gigas and the others and if that was what was going on here, Sally's desire to protect all life would be horribly at odds with Del's own desire," Maple says looking grim as she works.

"We won't know the truth until we get to Administration," Isalia answers and Maple nods.

"Whatever it is, I'm prepared," Maple states.

"Unfortunately it doesn't seem there's any machine cores or usable plates in anything here," Cherchiel says after having checked out all the destroyed objects including the console.

"I'm all done, we're ready to go," Maple announces having created a fairly even number of grenades of each type.

With everything handled they head back to the train. Operations is surprisingly creepy now, all the machinery is off, the lights are off except a few emergency lights, the place seems, dead. The rest of the city isn't much better. Everywhere there are deactivated machines, the sky screens are all off, making the sky a simple black void, lights are still on, but all dim casting the city in eerie shadows.

The group arrive at administration and head to city hall. Inside they find Sally's final console and also in a large ornate tube, Del, covered in stasis gel.

"Del!" Maple cries out moving towards the tube, but stops as Sally appears. She looks terrible. Her current form is wearing a tattered dress, her hair a mess, smeared makeup from tears on her face.

"Please... Please don't," she says, her voice sounding broken, scared.

"Quiet you, I'm going to rescue my brother and you won't stop me!" Maple responds.

"Please... His last order was that I not tell you... I don't want to break his trust, but you can't take him out of there!" Sally begs.

Maple hesitates, "his last order... was for you not to tell me something?" she asks and Sally nods.

"he confided something to her... Something she wasn't allowed to tell you and... We can presume whatever it was led to all of this since if that was his last order, it can be assumed that she put him in stasis shortly after," Lemiel suggests.

Maple looks at the tube and then at Sally, "he's dying... Isn't he?" she asks and Sally looks away, confirming it without saying anything for sure.

"Nothing could stop it, mages, healers, doctors, even the idea of putting his brain into some kind of machine were suggested, but none of them would work apparently, he confided in me, told me he was scared and ordered me to do a few things. In a week he'd be gone apparently and he wanted me to protect you, Maple, as well as the rest of the city and lastly he didn't want you to know, not until he was gone, he didn't want you to spend your last bit of time with him, worrying about him or trying futilely to save him," Sally admits, doing her best to explain without breaking the order given to her.

Maple stares at Del, seemingly taking this in.

"Now that you know... please... I don't care if you destroy me. Condemn all the rest of you to ****'s embrace as much as it hurts me, but just... don't condemn Del..." Sally pleads.

"Hey Sally..." Maple says suddenly and Sally tilts her head questioningly.

"what do you think the worst things about **** are?" she asks and before Sally can speak, Maple continues, "not being able to talk to the dead person anymore, hear their voice... Them not being able to continue to enjoy life. I mean the dying part sucks I'm sure, but in the long run the worst part about someone being dead is the fact they aren't around to interact with anymore," Maple says and Sally looks away, seemingly understanding where this is going even before Maple spells it out, "How is this any different than just being dead!?" she asks and Sally winces.

"He's still alive!" she yells back, but Maple responds.

"So, what? We can't talk to him, he can't talk to us, all his brilliant creations he still has in his head will still never be made now all his goals will never be reached!" Maple responds, her voice rising in pitch, "and tell me, did you run any of this by him before doing it or did you just panic and shove him in a tube so you could keep him forever like a paperweight!?"

Sally looks pained and Maple continues.

"I don't want to die, I doubt Del does either, but I'm also sure that neither of us wants to be just trapped forever in numb oblivion either!" she finishes and Sally looks on the verge of tears.

"I... I can't lose him-" she starts, but Maple cuts her off.

"You already lost him either way," she says coldly and Sally does in fact start crying now her head held in her hands as she kneels on the ground in front of the tube.

Maple looks at Del and then turns to Yulia, "If we take him out now, I won't be able to come with you, I'm not wasting my remaining time with him, helping you up the tower, as much as it pains me we'll leave him in there until we're finished and I'll let him out and spend my remaining time with him later..." she says clearly holding back her own tears and then she glances at Sally and then back at Yulia, "As for Sally... deactivate her temporarily, permanently I don't care..." she says coldly.
