What's next?
Troy's drastic turn
"That would be me."
Troy's voice was deeper, more assured than before, courtesy of the complete body overhaul he'd received over the course of the game. It pained Sabrina, but she had to admit that Troy was becoming more of a man than Sam ever was, even before the game began. The former geek also seemed to have more courage than her current boyfriend. If these had been more ordinary circumstances, Sabrina might've even considered ditching Sam if it meant she could pursue Troy. Thankfully, these changes were all reversible, at least as far as she was concerned.
With two green transformation cards already under his belt, Troy didn't find it likely that he was to receive another one. Still, he stood corrected as he watched his miniature self slide slowly towards his third. He didn't mind it, after all, the game had been remarkably kind to him up til' now. A third change to his physical form wasn't unwelcome, especially considering what alternatives there were. Looking to Sabrina's mother, then sister, even Harry. All had received fairly consequential alterations to their mind. He didn't fancy losing himself to some magic game tinkering with his brains. The fact that he'd rolled an impressive six also made a third green card that much easier to swallow.
You've been treated well, to some's chagrin.
Another green card, prepare to enter new skin.
So headstrong, I expect you'll embrace,
Time to experience life as a different race.
Do you continue or chicken out?
"Nothing to decipher here, really. It could be worse, I'll continue. Wonder what race the game has in mind.."
It didn't fall him in immediately, but Troy realized after voicing his intent that the word "race" didn't necessarily have to refer to ethnicity. It could turn him into a dwarf, an elf ..Hell, even an orc if it wanted. It wasn't like him to act without thinking, but this time he had to admit that he'd jumped the gun.
Hope it lets me remain human..
The answer couldn't come soon enough. Thankfully, it seemed like the game had already decided upon something human. His skin turned darker, and darker, and darker. Next, his hair underwent a similar change in color, ending up completely black, and very curly.
"It made you black! Haha, welcome to the minority club, lol!"
Camila was ecstatic, not being the only minority present in the group. Not that she ever minded her status as a minority, in fact, she considered herself more exotic, desirable even. She never considered it a drawback or disadvantage, loving how her Latin features made her stand out in a world that was otherwise overfilled with copy-paste, dyed blonde white-girls with their ripped denim jeans and lip fillers.
"You don't even look remotely like your old self, hell, that's insane!"
Even Sam was getting carried away, almost forgetting that he was talking to the dweeb he used to bully relentlessly. This version of Troy, he could see himself getting along with just fine!
"I need a moment. I'll be right back, you can just continue while I'm gone!"
Troy rushed towards the bathroom, eager to get a better look at himself in all his Afro-American glory. He had to admit, he'd prefer to stay as his original race, seeing himself in the mirror was like looking at a painting. No matter how much he moved about, his brain refused to acknowledge that he was looking at a mirror image.
"Woah. It really did swap my race completely. This is so weird!"
Other than his ethnicity, this was the first time he'd gotten a proper look at himself since starting the game as a whole. As he stood on the bathroom floor, he marveled at his chiseled chest. He made pose after pose, admiring his new form. He really did look nothing like his old self. Eerie..

Meanwhile, the rest of the group remained in the living room, waiting eagerly as Camila prepared to initiate her next turn. Troy didn't have to tell her twice to continue on without him present, looking forward to what other goodness the game had in store for her. Massaging the die in her hands, she chanted something of a good luck charm, hoping the magic game was listening.
"Something good, something good, something GOOD!"

Chicken out: The game
A simple transformative game of chicken
Welcome to chicken out! The game so good we spun it off unchanged!! Based on the concept of Mr_Anderson. This is a game of chicken. The players each take turns rolling a die, their game piece moves accordingly and they draw a card based on the color they land on. The cards contain a text with transformative properties. After reading the card, the player can then choose to either continue or chicken out. Easy, right?
