"We've got another round after lunch," I move on, leaving him hanging, "And I don't know that I'll make it through. Hopefully Kim is done with her vendetta and won't keep us separated. Hell, maybe the three of us can go through this together this time?"

"A threesome?" Rachel coos, "I'm down if you two are."

Eddie stammers and blushes an even deeper shade of red. This is getting ridiculous and if I don't intervene then I'm sure he's going to do something dumb.

"You need to get your mind out of the gutter," I say, "We're out here in public, Rachel. How would we even make that happen?"

I give Eddie a look to make it clear that it's not going to happen but he misses it. His eyes are locked on her instead.

Rachel shrugs, "I'm not opposed to playing it all out in the open. Are you, Eddie?"

"Uhhh," is all he manages, but Rachel laughs light and tinkly at his discomfort.

"You're cute when you're stammering," she says, "I like it."

He swallows hard and I shake my head, stepping forward and redirecting the attention for just a moment before the intruder steps in and nearly ruins it all.

"So lunch?" Blake says, joining the three of us, "Where are we eating, ladies?"

A brief expression of frustration crosses the face of all three of us, but it's so brief that Blake entirely misses it. I want to embrace it but I'm the only one and Rachel is the one who takes the lead, wrapping her arm in mine and stepping back from the others.

"Emily and I have a date," she explains, "And a place to be. Afraid we can't stick around for long. We've only got an hour, after all, and I've got big plans."

Blake runs his eyes up and down my body and I see that he's gotten over the humiliation of the night before and decided not to be quiet or subtle any longer. Not that he ever was in the first place.

"You're really going to leave me hanging?" Blake says, hooking a thumb over at Eddie, "With string bean here?"

"You might learn a thing or two from him, Blake," Rachel shoots back along with a withering glare, "Eddie here knows how to be a gentleman and knows how to treat a lady, which is more than I can say for you."
