Sure, why not?

Tilly looked over the stack of documents in front of her. It looked more like a novel than terms and conditions. She tried to read though it all, she really did. But there was just so much of it.

All she really saw was the wage. It wouldn't make her rich, but she could at least make rent this month. She didn't know if it would end up being a full time commitment, so she could even keep looking for jobs.

It was just too good to be true. Of course Tilly had been on a roll with bad luck since well, since she was born. Could anyone really blame her for hoping and wishing that this really was a good opportunity?

So when Didi returned and asked if she'd read it all, Tilly said yes.

"Wonderful! Let's get you started then, can I see your phone?" Didi asked.

Tilly was suddenly embarrassed, what if the app wasn't compatible with her phone...uh oh. Sheepishly she pulled it out, "Uh it's a slightly older model..."

Didi took the phone, "Huh. I've never seen this before. What's a BlackBerry? Nevermind. Our app is extraordinary after all, it shouldn't be a problem but..." Didi reached into a drawer and pulled out a box, "Here. A gift. I suspect it will be easier to test on a more modern device."

Tilly examined the box, "What? I can't take this...I can't afford it."

Dido shrugged, "Can't afford it? It's free. Look," she pulled the drawer open all the way, "I've got hundreds of them."

Sure enough the drawer was stuffed full with boxes of unopened iPhones. "It's really free?" Tilly asked.

"Sure is, now let's get you set up." Didi opened the box for her and soon she was all set up and downloading the Taskmaster app, "Now this app is designed to take control of your life. You set goals in the app and then it gives you nudges towards achieving your goals. Once you get it working be sure to set your initial goals. Then adjust the permissions. Less permissions means the nudges aren't as forceful, but it will also be less effective."

"What exactly is a nudge?" Tilly asked.

Didi thought for a moment, "It could be anything really. It depends on how much permission you give it. The app will learn what kinds of nudges are most effective for you and keep pushing."

That didn't really answer her question, but it seemed like she wasn't going to get more answers out of Didi. She shrugged, "Fine. I guess I'll just wait and see."

"That's the spirt. Now after it finishes downloading it will take some time to set itself up. Why don't you go home and relax for a bit, the app will let you know when it's ready." Didi said with a smile.

"Uh sure. Ya." Tilly said. She thanked Didi for the opportunity and left the store. She didn't go home though, there was nothing waiting for her at home. Instead she hopped on the bus. Didi had said she'd get the money immediately, so it was time to indulge. Yes she needed to save some for rent later this month, but it had been weeks since she'd had a donut from Suzie's and she had a major sugar craving.

While she waited on the bus she explored her new phone. It was so much faster than her old one, and the screen so much bigger and brighter. Unfortunately without a data plan it wasn't all that useful. Oh well. Before the bus reached her destination the phone chimed, 'Taskmaster Ready. Click here to begin.'

Tilly shrugged, might as well start now.
