Chapter 17 by DragonODaWest DragonODaWest

What's the damage?

Her tits are out

I grab each of them by the metaphorical scruff on their necks, and their heads immediately whip around to stare at me with eyes wide. I’m so caught off guard that I freeze just the same.

I look down to where Tilu’s hands meet Nin’s skin and see that her small hands are firmly pressed into the catgirl’s exposed breasts. I look back up to their faces once more and slowly release my hold on their clothes.

Ahh shit, shit, shit. I jumped to conclusions didn’t I? I really thought that they were getting into a full on physical altercation. It dawned on me now that the barrier doesn't allow any unwanted pain or roughhousing or fights.

All I did was interrupt their fun. Well, shit.

My now empty hands slumped to my sides and I ducked out from under the table. I righted the overturned bench and began to walk away without another word. I’ll just leave them to have their fun. They don’t need a mood killer like me around. I grabbed my full drink and took a swig or two before flagging down one of the tavern wenches.

She looked at my face and then behind me. I guess my deflated mood was showing more than I thought. I asked her, “Am I allowed to bring the mugs to my room?”

She looked at me once again and her vision flicked to the mug in my hand and then behind me again. I don’t know why she kept doing that. A sly smile spread on her face, “Of course, dear. If it spills you can just clean it up with the bracelet and we’ll come to collect any empty dishes in the evening and then in the morning as well.” She gave me a thumbs up and pranced away.

I made it to the third step up the stairs before I felt something was off. I stopped. I looked out at the rest of the lively tavern and did a slow scan across the threshold. Out of the corner of my eye a white-furred tail flicked and my head focus immediately shifted to the person it was attached to. I jumped more than I’d like to admit and my ale sloshed dangerously in my mug.

I had ABSOLUTELY no idea that both girls were right on my heels. I guess that just goes to show what a dour mood I was in. It was like a mental fog had entered my head and weighed everything down. Everything has been a whirlwind since I got to this city and I still feel like I have no idea what’s going on.

I slump to the steps behind me, leaving two steps in between my butt and my feet, cradling my mug in both hands. I take a sip and Tilu cocks her head to the side.

“What are we doing? Why did we stop? I thought you were taking us to your room?” Her large eyes and floppy eyebrows made her look like an owl. Her voice was back to the neutral flat tone that she had first used. Nin waited patiently on the step below her but still stood a head over the small elf.

I heaved a sigh, “You can read my emotions, can’t you? I’m going to my room because I did a weird thing and I figured you didn’t want to talk to me anymore.”

I stared at the mug and took another swig.

“I am aware that your mood is…dark. But that’s all I know. I might be able to read emotions in general, but yours are hard to read as is. And I can't read minds.” She crosses her arms and continues, “So tell us what you’re thinking and we’ll tell you what we’re thinking. You know, like usual.” Nin nodded her head enthusiastically behind her.

I paused to think. She’s being very gracious to me. I know I stepped over a boundary. Right? It’s so hard to know all of the subtle intricacies of life and social interaction in such a different kind of environment. There’s no way I could have known that I accidentally crossed a line. Besides I was acting purely on instinct to keep them from getting hurt. Wait.

Did that line even exist for me to cross? I opened my mouth to speak.

“I panicked and thought that you two were going to fight for real. I didn’t want either of you to get hurt. I see that I ruined your fun and I apologize for it,” I look at each of their eyes in turn, “I’m sorry.”

Nin answered this time, “And we panicked when we noticed that you weren’t in on our little cat fight. We…do that often. It’s actually kinda fun and it keeps the skills sharp, you know?”

I didn’t know, but I nodded slowly as I sorted through my thoughts.

Tilu uncrossed her arms and put one hand on yours, “You haven’t even been here a day yet, Adler, but there’s something you should know: little stuff like that happens all the time. Misunderstandings, little slip-ups, general magical weirdness. Living in a magic-based city of sex is not perfect, by any means. But people being really experienced with sex means that they’re also really experienced with mishaps and mistakes.”

Her face softens and she smiles slightly, giving my arm a reassuring squeeze, “You did what you did not because you were inexperienced. You did what you did because you cared. You said it yourself, you didn’t want us to get hurt. You didn’t want us to fight. That is definitely not something that could ever upset us. You didn’t meddle, you didn’t overstep a boundary, you just tried to help. And that is perfectly okay. Preferred, even.”

Her and Nin smiled at me and a warm fuzzy feeling spread throughout my chest and head. It chased the fog away. Nin offered a hand to help me stand up and I gladly took it, rising from my slumped posture into something a little more ordinary for me.

She kept holding my hand and stared into my eyes as she spoke her piece, “I might be an impulsive and easily entertained catgirl, but I’m still an adult woman. I let my inhibitions go and just act on my baser instincts because it's fun. I found that when I do that, I never live the same day twice. There’s so many new things to do around the city that if I don't turn my brain off I miss out on all kinds of things that I would have otherwise. I mean, Tilu is like fi-.”

The elf quickly clamps her hand over the catgirl’s mouth.

“What she’s trying to say,” Tilu starts again, “Is that we’re all adults here who have lived lives outside of this city as well. It hasn’t even been a year since this place opened its gates. A mistake like that is not even worth mentioning. Worse and weirder shit happens daily. Hourly even. You haven’t chased us off and I doubt you could at this point.”

I stood there and smiled down at the two women, kind and compassionate women. It looks like I still have some growing to do after all.

Tilu grabbed my hand by grabbing Nin’s that was over mine and began to rush up the stairs past me, dragging us both.

“Now come oooonnnn, I still haven't sucked your dick yeeettt.”

She wiggled her tight, barely clad bottom in front of me and I reached out to give it a quick flick. She was too fast for me, though, and giggled in my face before jumping lightly up the staircase ahead of me.

I glanced at Nin and smiled an easy, amused smile when I saw her drooling after her friend’s butt with lust in her eyes. She glanced back at me and grinned, stepping past me as well. As she smoothly padded up the stairs in front of me I got a fantastic view of her heavenly booty. Her white-furred tail that sat just above it trailed over my neck and under my chin as she walked slowly, making a show of it. Simply mouthwatering.

I was grinning now too. Just go with the flow, Adler. Just go with the flow…

Author's Note: 4/9/24 - I will be putting this story on hold to work on a bigger project for a little bit and I'm out of accumulated backlog to put out. It'll probably only be one or two weeks, but sorry.

Let's go with the flow
