Well... ABOUT THAT...

20 minutes... we were 20 FUCKING MINUTES into this mission before we saw gang's running around shooting at anything that moved, we managed to help get some people free from rubble, heal some others or get them to safety and NOW we were pinned down under my shield with a HAIL OF GUNFIRE coming at us! "HOW?! How the FUCK is my LUCK LIKE THIS RIGHT NOW?!" I yelled out as I glared through the shield, they weren't cracking it but I couldn't really let it down or split my focus either, that's the point where Bambi came in. Up on the rooftops with high ground she blasted ice down at the shooters, freezing their guns one after another or sticking people in place by freezing their leg. When the shooting let up enough Betsy and I made our move, she used her powers to knock out several of them while I summoned around a dozen orbs that I sent flying at as many of the others as I could, making sure to bounce them from one enemy into another. It took a couple minutes but we dealt with what may as well have been a wave of gun wielding goons rather quickly, from there we moved on only to see someone else pinned down under gunfire as well. A huge black man in black pants with a yellow shirt and a belt buckle that read CAGE on it, behind him a woman with brown hair and brown eyes looking like she was trying to help keep some civilians safe from the bullets as well.

That was enough for us to basically start bombarding the gangs from above, Besty throwing her Psionic weaponry at them while Bambi blasted ice at them, I was targeting their guns with my purple/red combo explosive beams, disarming and knocking most of the thugs down or out. When enough pressure was off the pair they came charging out and beat down the few remaining enemies, the three of us coming down as the last thug fell. "Hey! You two alright?" I asked out of concern, Betsy giggling at me a bit before I saw the man smile at me. "Yeah, I'm bulletproof but my clothes sure aren't... Another shirt made into Swiss cheese..." He joked a little, I think trying to help me relax more than anything else. "Name's Jessica Jones, this is Luke Cage. Your with the X-men? We were on our way to the mansion when all hell broke loose!" The woman said, spinning around as a car screeched around the corner, heading right for us before it swerved and smashed into a wall. A civillian falling out of it as a thug kicked him from the drivers side, aiming a gun at the guy and pulling the trigger just as Ice froze his weapon and the bullet in mid flight. I launched my Green Orbs at the thug right as he managed to use his free arm to throw a switch, the back of the large truck opening up as another group of thugs came pouring out. "We don't have time for this!" I said before using my new Concrete control to drop them all into a massive hole, reforming the top into a set of concrete bars before moving a sign that said WARNING: SINKHOLE just in front of the now trapped thugs. I heard Luke and Jessica both laugh for a moment, giggling coming from my own team even as Betsy tried to warn me that this stuff happens a LOT and I should try to stay calm.

"Oh no, I AM calm. Just annoyed is all..." I explained with probably too much of a smile on my face, I heard the giggling of Bambi increasing as Betsy just nodded and pat me on the head. "So what were you heading to the Mansion for?" Betsy asked them as she turned their way, the looks on their faces turning more serious. "We were coming to ask about Purple Man, Jessica though he might be dead due to her connection to him feeling like it was gone. We thought we'd ask your team about him, see if you knew anything." Luke explained, an almost haunted look on Jessica's face, it didn't take long to realize she was probably someone he targeted a lot. "He's not dead, he's lost his ability to control others though... I think it's borked his mind even more than before though. You can literally SEE him trying to exert control over others and it doing absolutely NOTHING now..." I explained to them, watching as both their jaws dropped for a moment, Jessica looking especially shocked, Luke looking relieved for a moment as Jessica started to shed tears of joy, Luke wrapping her up in a big hug. "You've no idea how happy we are to hear that, he spent a lot of time going after Jessica so to hear that he CAN'T go after her anymore is the best news we've heard in a LONG time. Danny is gonna be happy to hear this too." I looked over at them before remembering something. "Yeah, no more mind control for him, there's no getting it back. He can still heal fast but I imagine he'll be catching some beatings for the things he did for quite awhile..."

With that we continued on, trying to help as many people as we could, Luke and Jessica heading out to help as well. As our group made our way towards the larger collection of problem area's we ended up hearing a loud thudding heading towards us, I had a flashback to earlier that day as I gathered Green/Blue around my hand just in time for a huge guy in a grey suit to charge through a wall towards us. He screamed, Betsy and Bambi prepared to attack when I sent them a message to watch out for anyone else, this guy was one of six after all and their group could still be working together. I moved towards Rhino, walking forward as he charged at me, I'm not entirely sure how I managed it but I timed it perfectly... I used Impact Palm, but instead of forward my hand swung out from the side in a SLAP that sent Rhino rolling to the side, skidding along the ground as his momentum carried him to slid and SLAM into a wall. I heard a CLANG back where Betsy was, saw her using her Psionic weaponry to hold off a powerful tail as a guy in a green suit tried to get the ice off his arms, Bambi already trying to freeze his legs as well so he couldn't escape. Rhino yelled out in anger as he tried to charge at me again, multiple Explosive Beams slowed his advance to a crawl, partially blinding him as I avoided the charge again, watching him drive his horn into a wall and get stuck was pretty funny actually.

Rhino had barely gotten himself free and turned his head back towards me when I hit him with another Impact Palm, SMASHING him back into the wall for a moment as he tried to turn around. He sounded already like he was a little out of breath, but I didn't wanna take chances... Purple/White gathered around my hands forming Energy Fists as I punched and tried to knock him out. In three swings the wall behind him broke as he fell through it, struggling to crawl away, trying to get himself back up, he looked HEAVILY disoriented even as I used another Impact smash him into the ground. He didn't get up and it took a moment to see he was just ****. With that I ran to go help with Scorpion only to see it wasn't needed, he was already MOSTLY a block of ice, his tail pinned down as Bambi froze it to the ground as well. Scorpion shivering and cussing at the women as he tried to get free, only for Betsy to use her psychic ability to knock him out. I sent a message to Miles "That's 2 down, Rhino and Scorpion are **** here..." I explained as I gave their location, getting a response back from Peter surprisingly. "That's great! Miles is a bit busy at the moment dealing with Tombstone, I've got my own hands full with Kraven and Gwen is currently dealing with the Chameleon." Peter explained before I responded back. "Right now the biggest issue is all the gangs and small time thugs trying to cause chaos, I'm gonna try something to help thin them out more before we head for the next Villains we can find." I explained, getting a good luck back in response before Betsy, Bambi and I began to move towards the next section of city where it looked like the most damage was. I brought out the max amount of clones I could and sent them out to hunt and knock out as many thugs as they could, try and clean up the streets hopefully.

We spotted Vulture next, draining the youth out of a couple people as we tried to sneak up on him, Betsy and Bambi from the ground while I took flight to stop him from escaping. An ice blast managed to catch one of his legs but he still was able to take off, Betsy throwing psionic weaponry at him to try and clip his wings with him just BARELY managing to avoid them. He began to laugh at them as they stopped launching attacks at him, thinking he had the upper hand until 3 Explosive blasts slammed into his back and heavily damaged his wings, forcing him to struggle just to land back on the roof he'd JUST left. With that he was frozen in place and left for the police. That's about the time we noticed it was raining, multiple fires starting to go out as we began to move again. We didn't get far before we got a message from the other team, they'd found the last 3 of the six. Heading over there was a LOT easier now that the clones as well as Luke and Jessica were putting the thugs to sleep, when we got there we saw Kitty pulling a few people from collapsed buildings while Jean was moving away rubble, Storm above them putting out fires. A quick message from Jean showed us where to go, I headed for Electro first, he could be powered up a bit from the storm brewing above now for all I knew.

Finding him was easy, but how to deal with him? I tried to use different powers at once for this, using Blue Shield I created a bubble around him he could launch his electricity out of, meanwhile I tried using my new Concrete Manipulation to reach up and wrap around the wanna be lightning bolt. With the concrete pulling him down into the ground until only his head was left showing, that made it a lot easier for Betsy to simply knock him out with a psychic attack. With that done the three of us split up to handle the last two, Betsy and Bambi heading for Shocker while I went to deal with Lizard alone. It wasn't difficult to find the Lizard either, then again he technically found me first... Getting grabbed by a tail and flung across a room was a surprise but I don't think he was expecting my hands to glow Purple/Blue a moment before launching lightning at him, I shocked the hell out of him and kept it up until he was struggling to stand, he tried playing possum and using his tail to swipe at me and I... I reacted without thinking...

My Energy Fist swung out punching at his tail... I saw his tail basically explode backwards into blood and muscle, I heard the Lizard roar before trying to Impact Palm it ****... It took several hits to finally bring down and when it WAS knocked out, I used concrete to restrain it, waiting just long enough to make sure it's tail would regrow before I prepared to head out again. I got one step before nearly jumping back in surprise. Fucking Pop ups...

This screen... it wasn't blue like normal pop ups, it was RED... Did that mean I wouldn't have another chance to do this? Freeing another scientific mind sounded like the best option so I moved closer and began the process, tapping the ALLY option. This time... this time I was pulled into Lizards mind along with the Invasion... Let me just say this...
