It's risky, but plan 1.

At a 50% chance, you've equal odds of just finding a man, and giving birth to a son somewhere outside of the kingdom, and 50% for a daughter...But that's not really so unlikely, and it beats having to carry on some charade for the rest of your life, or complicating your relationship with your BFF Merlina. Just go out, get it on, have the boy and come back. Easy. You explain your choice to Merlina who, if she is disappointed, does not show it. She nods her head with a reassuring smile, as she goes off to make preparations for your departure.

Merlina sees to everything, making sure that the true purpose stays hidden. You are given a guard of the most loyal knights of your kingdom, as well as a few apprentice mages and a maid. Each one is bound under contract and oath to preserve you, as well as to keep secret the details of your journey under penalty of a vicious Hex. You don't know the details, but Merlina assures you that between the hex, their own loyalty, and their character, none of them are a threat to your secret. In truth, most of them presume you're going on this year long journey to deal with grief, as well as get one last hurrah before being **** to settle down. The ones with any suspicion simply think the only secret they pledge to keep is that you may get drunk and end up locked out of a tavern naked, or perhaps may end up in the bed of a man by mistake in your revelry ...little do they know.

It's a week of preparation, before you leave. You will be served by 4 knights, two apprentice mages, and a maid. Each knight is a veteran warrior, and while they are called apprentices, in truth as apprentice to the Court Wizard they may be the second and third most powerful mages in the Kingdom of Olaria. And the maid... Is just a maid. You need someone to wash your clothes and such. She is a fairly competent maid though, and importantly a mother once and a midwife as well and you... Oh man it's setting in, huh... you're really doing this... You're going to explore the world, find a man, get knocked up, BE pregnant... You don't think about it. You need to leave the kingdom first!

Though... maybe a little thought is in order...
