Chapter 33 by 280tcove 280tcove

What's next?

Master of Lore

Time sits there patiently, idly playing with her bare breasts as she waits to hear what I want to do while Luck is gone. However, my mind is still focused on trying to get some rest this weekend.

"If I'm being totally honest, I'd rather be left alone," I eventually tell her.

After I say that, Time looks visibly hurt by my words.

"W-what? Do you not like me or something?" She asks, a clear sadness in her voice. "I thought we were hitting it off. Shoot, I must have messed everything up, didn't I? Maybe I should go..."

Instantly, I'm hit with a wave of guilt. I wasn't expecting her to take it so hard. I'm so used to Luck immediately deflecting anything negative I say, I just assumed Time would do the same. Obviously, I was mistaken. And I didn't mean to make her think she did something wrong. It's really about me being antisocial more than anything. As I watch the redhaired woman fidget uncomfortably in her seat, I realize just how unfair I was being. Ugh... Now I just feel bad for her...

"Woah, woah, woah. I'm sorry. You didn't mess up anything. I was just being difficult," I admit, scratching the back of my head awkwardly.

"So... you're not upset at me? Does that mean we can still hang out?" Time asks hopefully.

Well, I can't really refuse now, can I? At least if nothing else, her more subdued personality should make her easier to manage compared to the more chaotic energy Luck brings to just about every situation she finds herself in.

"Um... sure. I guess if you really want to, we can try to find something to do."

"Really?! Oh, thank you, Kyle! I promise to try my absolute hardest to make sure we have fun together!" Time assures me as a smile returns to her face. I'm not sure you're supposed to put forth that much effort in order to have fun. Then again, I'm not all that fun of a person in general, so what do I know?

"We should probably get you out of here before my parents wake up and find you though," I note in an attempt to move on to a different topic.

"Are you worried about them seeing me naked? Don't be. The mental block Luck put in their heads also works for me, so they shouldn't be bothered by my presence," Time assures me.

As much of a relief as that is to hear, that doesn't mean I love the idea of my mothers meeting Time. Given how they initially reacted to meeting Luck, I can only assume that an encounter with Time would go similarly poorly, with them somehow finding a way to voice their frustrations with me based on something she does.

"I'd just be more comfortable if we continued this conversation in my room," I say.

"Oh, okay. I don't mind doing that," Time agrees. "I'll meet you up there."

And just like that, Time vanishes in the blink of an eye. You know, I was kind of assuming we would walk up to my room together, but whatever. This works too, I guess. I head up the stairs and down the hall to my room, where I find Time already waiting for me. The short redhead is sitting in a relaxed position on my bed with her legs crossed. There's a soft smile on her face and a sparkle in her eyes as she sees me that gives her a much more innocent look compared to Luck. Although her nudity does take away from the innocence in a way.

"So, we're alone. What next?" She asks me.

Based on the way she talks, I can tell she's very much a follower rather than a leader. That does make sense given Luck's more controlling personality, but it's still odd that this girl who apparently knows everything there is to know about everything seems so passive when interacting with other people.

"Uh... I'm not really sure. I hadn't given it much thought," I admit.

"Hmm... Oh! I know!" Time cries out in epiphany. "Why don't you ask me some questions? I can tell by the look on your face that there are a lot of things about this situation you don't understand. Knowing Luck, I'm guessing she didn't give you too many details, did she?"

"You've got that right..." I confirm while glancing away slightly. "So you're really willing to tell me more about what exactly has been going on?"

"Sure!" Time replies happily. "I love answering people's questions! Go ahead! Ask me anything!"

I pause for a moment, placing a hand on my chin as I think. Is she serious? Will she actually answer any question I ask? Like, a straightforward, easy-to-understand answer? For some reason, I have a hard time believing that. Luck has been so obtuse when it comes to giving me information. Having an opportunity to hear some more concrete details sounds incredibly helpful. Assuming that's what I actually get, that is. Although, Time doesn't seem quite as immature and mischievous as Luck is. She feels a lot more... genuine. Maybe that's just wishful thinking though. I have only know her for a few minutes, after all.

Well, I guess it couldn't hurt to try and learn more about... well, everything. There really are a lot of things I'd like to know more about. Call me overly analytical if you want, but I feel like if I'm going to have access to a resource with as much knowledge as Time supposedly does, I really should take advantage of it. The only question is what should I ask first?

"I guess it might be a good idea to start with what exactly you and Luck are? I'm still not really clear on that," I tell her, which prompts a confused look from Time.

"She didn't explain it to you?" She asks, to which I just shake my head. "Huh. Well, I guess I shouldn't be that surprised. Luck never has been big on details... Okay, so how exactly can I put this in a way that will make sense to you? You know how a piece of paper is so flat, it's effectively a two-dimensional object when you look at it head-on?"

"Yeah?"

"Well, it's kind of like your dimension is our piece of paper," Time tells me.

That's... not exactly what I was expecting to hear. I'm not really sure what I was expecting, but I can say for sure it wasn't that.

"So, you guys are, like, extradimensional beings are something?" I try to follow.

"That's a good way to put it. And just like how you can easily move your finger to different positions on a two-dimensional surface, we can do the same thing here. That's why from your perspective, it looks like we're teleporting around at will," Time adds, moving her index finger through the air for emphasis.

I... think that makes sense? At least, as much sense as anything else. I knew I was dealing with some kind of supernatural presence here, but it's still weird to hear that Luck and Time live on a higher plane of existence. I suppose that does explain a lot of why Luck is able to bend reality with seemingly little issue. That doesn't mean this explanation is easy to wrap my head around though. In fact, it's probably for the best if I just move on and try not to worry too much about the further ramifications of that piece of information. The important thing is that I got an actual answer, so I can stop wondering about it.

"And are all of you extradimensional beings as... comfortable with your sexualities as you and Luck are?" I decide to ask next.

"You mean are we all sluts?" Time rephrases my question with a giggle. "More or less, yeah. Sex and everything that surrounds it is just something that comes naturally to us. I don't feel like it's even something most of us think about that much. Sex is fun, it feels good, and there are infinite way to keep it varied and interesting, so why not just embrace it, you know? Plus, I'm pretty sure we just have higher libidos than your kind in general, which doesn't hurt."

I guess when you're not bound by the rules and taboos of our world, there's not really a reason for modesty when it comes to that kind of stuff. And given my experience with Luck so far, I can't deny Time's point about it feeling good. Speaking of which, I wonder if Time has the same incredible sex skills as Luck. I mean, presumably, right? They are both sex-obsessed, supernatural entities. Not to mention that they're best friends, so I wouldn't be surprised if they share notes. Although, Time does still seem much more reserved than Luck, and she's admitted to not being much of a people-person, so it could theoretically go either way.

"Oh! How rude of me! We've already known each other for over ten minutes and I haven't offered you a blowjob yet!" Time exclaims, as if she could hear what I was thinking. "Do you want one? I can suck you off right now if you'd like."

"I... How did you know I was...?" I stumble over my words trying to figure out how to respond. Just then, a thought occurs to me. "You can't read my mind, can you?"

"What? No, nothing like that," Time answers with an amused chuckle. "I just saw the way you were staring at me, particularly at my breasts and vagina. Your body's natural responses indicated an increased level of arousal, which makes sense given that I'm still naked. Honestly, if anything, I'm flattered I provoked such a response."

"Uh..."

"So would you like blowjob? Or maybe a titjob? My boobs aren't as big as Luck's, but they're still more than large enough to wrap around your penis" Time continues, not letting me get a word in. "I'll admit, it's been a little bit since I've pleasured a man with my body, but that shouldn't be an issue. I find it's like riding a bike. Though it would be easier if you were a woman since that's what I've had more practice with recently. Hey! Did you know that Earth is actually one of the planets with the most even gender ratios? Overall, there are significantly more female or female-presenting organisms in the greater universe. I've even seen a decent number of places where there aren't any men at all, while the opposite seems much rarer in my experience."

"Time? How could I possibly have known that?" I ask her in a somewhat cynical tone.

"Oh, right. I guess I didn't think about that," Time replies as she once again starts to fidget. "Sorry about that. I can get a little distracted sometimes... So, about that blowjob...?"

"I think I'm good for now, but I'll let you know," I say, to which she just nods, likely forcing herself to not speak in an attempt to avoid potentially going off on another tangent.

Speaking of that, did Time just confirm the existence of aliens? What an absurd thing to just casually drop like that. Although, I guess I am dealing with women who live on a higher plane of existence, so maybe aliens aren't that wild of an idea. Also, apparently lesbian aliens are a thing. Huh. Go figure.

"Well, anyway, that's about as much of that as I care to know," I tell Time. "As interesting as I'm sure the sexual habits of extraterrestrials are, I have enough to deal with on my own planet."

"Yeah, that's probably for the best," Time agrees. "Planet-hopping is outside of the scale of this story anyway. That was more a fun bit of world-building than anything else."

"Actually, you just reminded me: what's up with the whole 'story' thing? Luck has said stuff similar to that before, but she refuses to tell me what it means."

Time pauses for a second, as if really considering how she wants to respond to that. After a moment, she looks back at me with a bit of an apprehensive expression.

"I don't think I can answer that question. Or rather, I think it's best if you don't know. For the safety of your mental state, I mean. I'd recommend you try not to worry about it," She explains.

What the hell does that mean?! You can't just say something like that and expect me to not want more information. Though, at the same time, I am kind of scared to hear more now. The last thing I need right now is another existential crisis. Maybe it's for the best I just continue to assume Luck and Time are crazy whenever they say something I can't comprehend...

"Um... okay..." I say nervously, trying to think of something else to ask. Thinking for a few seconds, I'm eventually able to come up with something. "Hey, you know about this surprise Luck has planned, right? The thing she left us alone to go work on. Can you tell me what that is? I'm not really a fan of going into situations unprepared. Especially when Luck is the one preparing them..."

Hearing that causes Time's face to fall even more.

"Sorry, but I can't tell you that either. Luck made me promise not to give anything away. She's really excited about it and wants to make sure nothing ruins the surprise. You know how she is."

Unfortunately, I do. I was really hoping I could get Time to spill the beans, given how much she likes to hand out information. But I guess her friendship with Luck is stronger than her love of sharing knowledge. It actually sounds kind of sweet when I put it like that, even if it still doesn't help me.

"You know, Luck really does like you, Kyle," Time suddenly says as I'm thinking to myself.

"What?" I respond, briefly caught off guard.

"I know she can seem like she's just doing whatever she wants, but I don't believe that's actually true. She's always going on and on about different ideas she has, asking me if I think you'll like them. And even when she isn't brainstorming, she still talks about you all the time," the redhead explains.

"Really?"

"Yeah," Time nods. "I've never seen her so interested in a human before. Normally, she just messes with a few people, has her fun, maybe hands off one of her gadgets, then moves on. But you're the first person she's ever stuck around for an extended period. My hypothesis is that it's because there's something about you she finds especially fascinating. What that is, however, even I don't know."

"Huh..." is the only response I'm able to give. I never really considered that Luck cared so much about me. I know she keeps saying that she's trying to fix my life, but I always assumed she was just doing that for her own entertainment. Maybe there's more to it than that. I'm not sure. I can't even begin to act like I understand what goes on in her head. All I know is that Time seems to genuinely believe what she just told me. Something to think about, I guess. "You know what? I think that's enough questions for right now."

"Are you sure? I don't mind telling you anything else you want to know," Time tries to assure me. "I know those last two questions put a damper on things, but I swear I can help you with just about anything else."

"That's alright. I'm fine for now. But you were very helpful, so thank you, Time. Now why don't we find something else to do?" I suggest.

"Okay!" Time smiles. "But if you ever want to ask something in the future, just let me know!"

Being able to ask Time questions about various topics seems like it could really come in handy. I'll have to remember to call her if I ever need any information. I mean, why look up something on the internet or in a book, when you have access to a living universal encyclopedia?

"So... what now?" I ask, not sure where to go from here.

"Ooh! Ooh! I just thought of a fun idea!" Time shout gleefully.

Oh boy... Who knows what kind of suggestion is about to come out of this girl's mouth?

What's next?
