Samia approached Lexo once more, her mind made up. "I'll join you, Lexo. But on my own terms." She emphasized the words with a narrowing of the eyes.
Lexo arched an eyebrow, intrigued by her newfound confidence. "And what are your terms, Samia?"
"First, I want proof that you've made amends for what you did to me," she stated firmly. "And that it won't happen again."
He nodded, understanding the gravity of her request. "I will do whatever it takes to show you that I am worthy of your trust. I will make it right."
Samia hesitated for a moment, her heart pounding in her chest. "Very well, but I will need your help in retrieving something of great importance myself."
Lexo considered her words, nodding slowly. "A job? I am at your service, Samia. Whatever you need, I will help you with it."
Together, they discussed and began to make their plans for the job she had been working on.
Samia was determined to believe that Lexo had made amends for what he had done to her, but she also knew that it would take time and effort to regain her trust. "I can't stress enough how difficult this job is, Samia," Lexo said to her, his eyes locked onto hers. "It will take time, and you’ll need more experience. We’ll continue to work on what we’re doing here, then we’ll make our way to Octoton in time."
