Put on the ring and Keep searching

With a shrug Seth decided to put the ring on. He jumped slightly as the ring magically re-sized itself to fit, but nothing else happened and his armor class didn't feel any different. With a shaky hand he removed it, but once again, nothing happened. It wasn't stuck and there wasn't anything different.

"So what is it?" he wondered as he put it back on. He frowned for a moment and wondered why it wasn't doing anything then realized. "It probably has some on off function. And I don't know how to use it. Shit."

Once again, specifically looking around for a weapon this time. Eventually it brought him to a simple weapons rack. Mounted on it was a sword, an axe, and a mace. All three were impressively large (and probably just as heavy) and solidly built, though sitting here for so long seems to have been a little hard on them, they still seemed like they'd be safe to use.
