Building a Richer Tomrrow

On the drive back to the house, Ms. Chaudhari's phone buzzed with a notification and when she grabbed the phone and looked at the text, her face turned grim, "Fuck." She muttered. "Looks like we're gonna have to make a stop before we head home, Lexi." She took the next right turn, away from the direction of the house and after several minutes she and Lexi arrived at a large, boxy three story building adorned with golden letters reading 'Prosperous Solutions'.

Sitting in the car, Ms. Chaudhari looked to Lexi with a serious face, "I need you to behave in here. There is a lot at stake and I can't have any problems, understand?." Lexi gave Ms. Chaudhari an affirmative bark and the brown-skinned woman led the blonde pet into the building.

As they walked through the lobby the receptionist greeted Ms. Chaudhari with a smile, "Good morning, Miss Chaudhari. Mr. Ingress is waiting for you in your office." Ms. Chaudhari responded with a silent nod as she continued through reception. She reached a metal door with no visible knob and only a small blue panel next to it. Ms. Chaudhari placed her hand on the panel causing it to light up and scan her hand. With a positive beep, the door slid open with a whoosh.

Walking past the private labs in the building, Lexi was in awe as she looked through the windows to see the experiments on display. In one room was a man conversing with a feminine robot with chalk white rubber skin and fiber optic hair. In another was a woman typing on a pad as she watched objects float over a large black disc. A third room had two men working on a holographic model of what Lexi could only imagine was some sort of futuristic cruise ship. This is like something out of a sci-fi movie. Lexi thought to herself.

Ms. Chaudhari noticed the wide-eyed look on the blonde pet's face and smiled proudly, "This is what can be achieved when we have virtually no limits, when the illusion of morality is dispelled and when those with power come together for a common cause. What we are accomplishing here will ensure that humanity still prospers even in the face of certain annihilation."

They continued down the hall until they reached Ms. Chaudhari's office.
