Examine the Walls

Seth looked on, lost in curiosity and wonder. This thing is so cool, he thought to himself, as his hand moved towards the indentation. He wondered what it would do. Probably something really cool, he thought just as his finger was about to touch 'the button'.

He paused just half a moment away from contact. Or something really, really dangerous, if not outright deadly. He truly doubted this was schmuck bait, it was simply too complex, though he was sure there was someone somewhere paranoid and sadistic enough to build a trap this overly complicated. And with the complication of the circle he could literally be standing ground zero on some kind of magical nuke.

And even if it wasn't a trap or some kind of "push here to blow up county" magi-bomb, it could still involve all kinds of ritual to use and control. Using something this complicated blindly would be like trying to fly a jet fighter without having any idea what any of the controls do. You'd go very fast and scream a lot before becoming one with the earth, in the "smoking crater" sense.

Nope. I don't think so. He pulled his thumb away. Yet again, another painfully bad idea quickly averted by last moment use of the brain.

Standing back up, he instead turned to the walls and thought for a second. There had to be some kind of secret door here. There had to be a way out, and he was sure that he had a good idea of where. If there was one thing he picked up from years of gaming it was that behavior tended to lead to some elements of predictably. If there was going to be a door, it would be near the center of the wall. If there was going to be a latch, it would probably be between waist height and head height. And as there was an obvious centerpiece of the room, it gives it orientation.

If somehow the stone circle came first, or a new entrance or hidden room was built after it, chance are that the door would be at the top of the massive, intricate pentagram in the middle, as people tend to like to start at the top when they build. If it was build second, then chances were it was at the bottom of the circle, as when people begin a new project they like to start at the bottom and work their way up.
