A sudden burst of power...

As Eris struggles to her feet, she suddenly feels a surge of power fill her body. It felt like a runner's high, where her body became as light as a feather and yet her muscles pulsed with energy. Faster than she thought possible, her legs launched her body forward, sending her barrelling down the hallway and tumbling into her own room, before Adam could even take a single step forward.

'Huh?' Adam thinks. 'What the hell was that noise?'

He cautiously approaches his bedroom door, noting that it is slightly ajar. Swinging it open, he peers out into the hallway, only to see naught but a single smoking footprint imprinted upon the wooden floorboards. "What the fuck?"

Back safely in her room, Eris examines her body in surprise. The sudden burst of energy she felt earlier had already dissipated, but she was curious as to the origin. But try as she might, she could not think of what might have caused it.

"Bah!" Frustrated, she gives up, instead turning to her wardrobe. "Now what shall I wear today?"
